I'm not going to lie I love international first class, and especially flying Etihad's First Apartment. But at most I do that a few times a year, so that's not what makes the bulk of my travels better.
I slog it out with well north of 100 flights a year, most of that is domestic. And there's one thing that makes my travel better than anything else: not checking a bag, but more importantly not needing overhead bin space.
I think it was Peter Greenberg who is most known for saying, “there are only two kinds of bags: carry on and lost.”
Britain’s biggest city has almost ground to a halt, thanks to the rise of Uber, delivery drivers – and cycle lanes. Can anything be done to end the gridlock and pollution?

two flights cost less than the single Montreal-Chicago direct flight. Is it O.K. to book the cheaper Montreal-Chicago-Milwaukee itinerary and be a no-show for the second flight?
Absolutely. Purchasing something doesn’t mean you’re obligated to consume it in totality. You can use whatever portion of the purchase you choose. If you buy a loaf of bread, you don’t have to eat every slice. //
It’s blatantly obvious these flight prices are not based on the amount of fuel, maintenance and labor required for the respective journeys. The airlines are manipulating the prices based on demand. No one is losing money here — you are paying the full price required for a trip to Milwaukee and simply electing to suspend your travels midway there. If you really want to be a good person, inform an airline representative in Chicago that you will not be boarding the flight to Milwaukee; this way, someone trying to get to Wisconsin on standby can be pushed onto the flight.
Why airlines are cracking down on "skiplagging" — the hack that savvy travellers use to fly for less.
There’s a sneaky travel hack out there, right under your nose – but you may not even know it exists. It could save you big money on airfare.
And airlines are doing everything they can to stamp it out once and for all.
It’s called “skiplagging”, and here’s how it works: Say if someone wants to fly from Boston to Houston, but the airfare is too high. So they buy a ticket from Boston to Las Vegas with a layover in Houston, because it is cheaper than the direct Boston-to-Houston fare. The passenger disembarks at Houston, leaving an unused portion of the ticket. So they never actually finish the entire journey they booked – but they’ve saved money doing so.

Three of the largest U.S. airlines are removing seatback screens from most narrowbody aircraft in their domestic fleets, as reported last week by Bloomberg. American Airlines, United Airlines, and Alaska Air are all removing screens from medium-range Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. //
On the other side of the aisle, so to speak, Delta and JetBlue are sticking with on-demand seatback entertainment, at least for now. //
Earlier this year, American Airlines installed satellite connectivity on its entire fleet of domestic narrowbodies and now offers no-buffering, high-speed Wi-Fi and live TV on more aircraft than any other airline. Better yet, the carrier is installing USB power outlets and tablet holders at every seat across its mainline fleet.
And last year, Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian told Barron’s, “Our goal is to make Wi-Fi free with high-speed quality. It will take another year or two to make that happen.”
For some people, a passport is a portal to the world. For others, it is a barrier to the travel freedom they seek. Where do you lie on the spectrum of mobility? Henley & Partners has launched the Henley Passport Index — a ranking of all the passports of the world according to the number of countries their holders can travel to visa-free. See how powerful your passport is here: henleypassportindex.com
Sometime towards the end of the 15th century, the French word passeport (from passer, ‘to pass’, and either port, ‘harbor, or porte, ‘city gate’) was adopted by the embryonic hybrid language that would eventually become English and simplified into ‘passport’. Today, this unassuming two-syllable word is the fulcrum on which much of global politics turns.
Modern passport laws have been in place in the West since the 1500s, but the emergence of long-distance railway systems in the 19th century made them all but impossible to enforce, and there were generally few barriers to international travel until World War I. Borders were still being defined and disputed; as such, they were only loosely patrolled.
Depending on the purpose of your travel to Switzerland, there are different types of Swiss visas that will apply to the occasion.
Whether you are planning to go on a visit, study or work and reside in Switzerland permanently, you will have to apply for a different Swiss Visa, accordingly.

Canyonlands invites you to explore a wilderness of countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. Rivers divide the park into four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. These areas share a primitive desert atmosphere, but each offers different opportunities for sightseeing and adventure.
Originally named by John Wesley Powell, the Colorado Plateau comprises a series of tablelands (plateaus or mesas) located within an immense basin surrounded by highlands. Stream valleys that are typically narrow and widely spaced dissect the region, as do larger valleys, including the most spectacular – the Grand Canyon.
