In an unprecedented scene, a Saudi Arabian reporter grilled the leader of Hamas, Khaled Mashal, on Friday.
Mashal, who lives in the lap of luxury in Qatar while demanding women and children sacrifice themselves for him, was quite obviously caught off guard by the line of questioning. You can see him get visibly angry at times, perhaps due to an expectation that he'd be allowed to spew his normal talking points without any pushback.
The video is obviously in Arabic but is subtitled throughout.

Hamas Leader Abroad Khaled Mashal Rejects Accusations of Transgressions against Civilians on October 7 Attack: We Have Nothing to Apologize For; Hamas Only Fights Soldiers, But Sometimes There Are Civilian Victims in War; Hizbullah, Arab Countries Should Do More to Help Us #Hamas…

The pressure in the interview starts immediately, with a question about Hamas launching its new war against Israel without any backing from other Palestinian groups or Arab governments and then expecting them to all come rushing in to help. Mashal first answers by praising the brutal massacre of 1,400 people, mostly civilians, as "ingenious" and a part of the "air of resistance."
To her credit, the reporter kept pushing, countering by pointing out that Hamas wasn't resisting but instead butchered civilians and recorded themselves doing it. She goes on to point out that Hamas is now being compared to ISIS.
Naturally, Mashal again deflects, claiming such comparisons are a conspiracy invented by the Jews, and then the mask comes completely off. In an astonishing exchange, he begins to cite the 30 million Russian deaths during World War II as an example of the "sacrifice" needed to win. That's the leader of Hamas coming right out and saying what we all know: He is willing to see an unthinkable number of women and children die for his "cause" while he gives orders from his penthouse in Qatar, never putting himself in danger.
There's no greater picture of cowardice. //
At that point, the questioning returned to the issue of Hamas launching its attack unilaterally, with Mashal making a "demand" that Egypt get involved. It was in the context of Lebanon and Hezbollah, though, that the Saudi reporter delivered her most devastating line.
REPORTER: The last thing they need is another war that will come with another bill to pay. They say: Khaled Mashal is sitting in an air-conditioned room, talking about wars, jihad, and bombings
Mashal's answer is absolutely laughable.
MASHAL: We are in the middle of the battlefield. No one is sitting this one out.
Fact-check: False. He is literally sitting the war out, something he's done for most of his life. This is a man who was exiled by his fellow Arabs in Jordan before going to Syria and then Qatar. He has others die in his name while he lives off the fruit of the aid money he stole from them.
But the real outrage in this whole affair is that there are hospitals that have been bombed – in Israel. On his Substack, journalist Julio Rosas reported:
Barzilai Medical Center is a major hospital in Israel’s southern region, the epicenter of the nearly two-week-old high-intensity conflict between Israel and Hamas. Hundreds of rockets from Gaza have been fired at the seaside city, with many hitting buildings and people who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Despite being a hospital, Barzilai Medical Center has been attacked at least four times by rockets fired by terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip. //
Barzilai Medical Center serves as the main hospital for wounded soldiers and provides medical services to about half a million people in Israel’s southern region. “We know it from former rounds of battles here that the hospital is being targeted directly. They want to give the impression to the people in Israel that nowhere is safe,” Dr. Givaty told Rosas. //
So, where’s the wall-to-wall coverage for the constant bombing of Barzilai Medical Center? Where is the outrage coming from the elite members of the chattering class? Where are the rallies at the Cannon House Office Building? //
If America’s once-vaunted Fourth Estate were serious about journalism, they would report on instances in which both Israelis and Palestinians are suffering – and they would do their level best to ensure they are giving their audience the truth instead of perpetuating narratives designed to promote a particular agenda.

ABC to IDF members: "There are those voices there, across this region and elsewhere who say the price of military action is too great, that too many civilians are now dying. Too many Palestinians dying."

The goal of war isn't an eye for an eye, it's to make sure that the group that took your eye never has the resources, manpower, or wherewithal to try to take yours, or anyone else's eye again. It is the show of such overwhelming and deadly force that your enemy is crippled to the point of never getting back up again or, if possible, the complete destruction of them.
There's an old saying about how war is hell, and that's especially true in places where terroristic despots have their military trained to use civilians as human shields, including having them hide in hospitals, daycare centers, apartment buildings, and the like so that when and if their opposition strikes back, they'll be accused of war atrocities against innocent people. //
On the other hand, if the Hamas government actually cared about the loss of innocent life then perhaps they wouldn't have green-lit their military to take hostages, murder, rape, and parade naked women in the streets, and behead infants.
But the torture of the Israeli people was the point despite what Hamas knew would be an overwhelming response of force, because this isn't just about Israel for Hamas; it's about the eradication of Jews worldwide, starting in their homeland which of course leaves the IDF no choice but to respond accordingly. //

It ain't a war crime to kill human shields. Protesters have ignored that fact. It's only a war crime to hold humans as shields for military targets. The ONLY war criminals are Hamas. Under the rules of war, any military installation is a legal target, regardless of whether there are civilians on or near the target. If there are civilians on or near the target, it is the resposibility of the controling authority, in this case Hamas, to evacuate the civilians as best they can. Hamas tries to stop civilian evacuations, because they want to maximize civilian casualties. Again, that's Hamas' war crime and ONLY Hamas' war crime, no matter how many civilians are killed.
Hamas has over 400 km of tunnels under Gaza, but no bomb shelters for civilians. Hamas has supplies for months of siege, but Gaza civilians are already running out of drinking water, fuel and food. In short, Hamas values civilians in Gaza only as casualties and human shields.
Everything Hamas does is a war crime, genocide, killing babies, taking hostages, killing prisoners of war, using human shields and making no provision for the civilians under their control. Nothing Israel does is a war crime.

It's simply not the BBC's job to tell people who to support and who to condemn, writes the BBC's World Affairs editor. //
Government ministers, newspaper columnists, ordinary people - they're all asking why the BBC doesn't say the Hamas gunmen who carried out appalling atrocities in southern Israel are terrorists.
The answer goes right back to the BBC's founding principles.
Terrorism is a loaded word, which people use about an outfit they disapprove of morally. It's simply not the BBC's job to tell people who to support and who to condemn - who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.
We regularly point out that the British and other governments have condemned Hamas as a terrorist organisation, but that's their business. We also run interviews with guests and quote contributors who describe Hamas as terrorists.
The key point is that we don't say it in our voice. Our business is to present our audiences with the facts, and let them make up their own minds.
As it happens, of course, many of the people who've attacked us for not using the word terrorist have seen our pictures, heard our audio or read our stories, and made up their minds on the basis of our reporting, so it's not as though we're hiding the truth in any way - far from it.
Any reasonable person would be appalled by the kind of thing we've seen. It's perfectly reasonable to call the incidents that have occurred "atrocities", because that's exactly what they are. //
But this doesn't mean that we should start saying that the organisation whose supporters have carried them out is a terrorist organisation, because that would mean we were abandoning our duty to stay objective.
And it's always been like this in the BBC. During World War Two, BBC broadcasters were expressly told not to call the Nazis evil or wicked, even though we could and did call them "the enemy".
"Above all," said a BBC document about all this, "there must be no room for ranting". Our tone had to be calm and collected. //
We don't take sides. We don't use loaded words like "evil" or "cowardly". We don't talk about "terrorists". And we're not the only ones to follow this line. Some of the world's most respected news organisations have exactly the same policy.
This is the biggest massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust. But unlike the Holocaust, in which the Germans tried to hide their war crimes — it took the Allies, remember, years to uncover all that the Nazis did — here, we have people streaming it, on real-time, on TikTok, on live stream, and on Instagram. //
The woman whose story I began with, Shaked Haran, 10 percent of that kibbutz where her family members were taken from — 10 percent, it is the literal meaning of the word "decimated" — were slaughtered. More than 100 bodies have been recovered from that kibbutz.
I want to emphasize what Jonathan was saying before: This is not a situation with two sides, with militants versus an army. This — the two sides in what just happened over the past 72 hours — is the side of rapist, barbaric people, who we are now learning beheaded babies — beheaded babies — versus innocent people. That is what is going on here. And anyone who is found cheering, celebrating in the streets of London or Paris or Berlin or New York or Sydney, where they are screaming: "Gas the Jews!" They are not cheering for the liberation of the Palestinian people in Gaza, who languish under the jackboot of Hamas. They are cheering for barbarism and bloodshed. And we should be absolutely clear about what is going on here. //

The journalists “were ordered not to report on Gazans killed by misfired Palestinian rockets or the military capabilities of Palestinian terror groups, and were told to blame Israel for the recent escalation” //
The Hamas’s media guidelines, issued under thinly veiled threats, were “aimed at imposing the Islamic militant group’s narrative on media coverage of the conflict by implicitly threatening Palestinian reporters and translators who live under its heavy-handed rule,” The Associated Press reported Tuesday.
Hamas later “retracted” the guidelines after its details were leaked to the media. Still, the terrorist group has sent a clear message to foreign media outlets that wish to operate within the territory under its control. “Even if the rules are officially withdrawn, Hamas has still signaled its expectations, which could have a chilling effect on critical coverage,” the AP noted. //
Out of more than 1,100 rockets fired by PIJ and other terrorist groups last week, a large number of them landed inside Gaza itself — accounting for most of the civilian deaths during the conflict. “Approximately 20% of all Islamic Jihad rocket launches landed within the Gaza Strip, resulting in many injuries and fatalities of Gazan residents,” the IDF said in a statement obtained by the Legal Insurrection on Sunday.
On May 23, 2021, at approximately 6:45 UTC, Churo and Fnu Lnu arrived at the operations room of the Minsk area air traffic control center with responsibility for Belarusian airspace. Churo and Fnu Lnu conveyed the purported bomb threat to the controllers on duty, even though the Flight had not yet departed Athens. Churo and Fnu Lnu specifically crafted the threat to coerce the pilots of the Flight to avoid continuing to their final destination of Vilnius, by claiming that the purported bomb would explode if the Flight landed there.
In addition, Churo and Fnu Lnu took the telling steps of directing that the Flight be diverted specifically to Minsk, and even though the Flight was still in the adjacent airspace of Ukraine, prohibiting the Minsk air traffic control center from making any notification to Ukrainian authorities of the purported bomb threat. This helped to ensure that the Flight would enter Belarusian airspace, and the plot to obtain and exercise control over the Flight could be executed. Fnu Lnu remained in the operations room at the Minsk air traffic control center from the time that he and Churo conveyed the purported bomb threat and directed that the Flight divert to Minsk, until shortly before the Flight landed in Minsk after being diverted, in order to ensure that the diversion plot was successfully executed.
Once the Flight reached Belarusian airspace, Fnu Lnu instructed the senior air traffic controller who was responsible for communicating with the Flight to inform the pilots of the purported bomb threat, describe that the threat had been sent by email, and make specific statements to ensure the threat seemed credible and to coerce the Flight to divert to Minsk. For example, Fnu Lnu directed that the air traffic controller should falsely inform the pilots that the threat to the aircraft was a level “red” – the most specific and credible category of threat. Fnu Lnu provided updates on the execution of the plot in real time to his superior in the Belarusian security services, Andry Antolievich Lnu, at one point expressing concern that the pilots might be stalling for time and the Flight might soon leave Belarusian airspace, which would jeopardize the success of their diversion scheme. In response to the false information conveyed as part of the defendants’ plot, the pilots of the Flight ultimately declared an emergency and diverted to Minsk National Airport, in accordance with the directives from Churo and Fnu Lnu.
Once the Flight landed in Minsk, Fnu Lnu left the air traffic control operations room and went to the airport tarmac. The Flight was met by Belarusian security services personnel, including individuals dressed in camouflage military-style uniforms, some of whom were wearing ski masks and carrying visible firearms. Fnu Lnu remained on the tarmac supervising the security forces and monitoring the screening of the passengers as they disembarked. Belarusian security services personnel then instructed the passengers to board one of several airport passenger buses.
Belarusian authorities boarded one of the buses and asked Individual-1 to come forward and identify himself, demonstrating that Belarusian authorities were aware that Individual-1 was on board the Flight. Individual-1 was escorted off the bus, where uniformed Belarusian officers separately searched him again on the airport tarmac. Belarusian officers then escorted Individual-1 back onto the bus and traveled with Individual-1 and the rest of the passengers to the airport terminal. Once the bus arrived at the terminal, the Flight’s passengers were detained in an area of the terminal secured by Belarusian security services. Additional Belarusian security officers met Individual-1 and the officers accompanying him, escorted Individual-1 away from the remaining passengers and detained Individual-1. One group of passengers from the Flight, including multiple U.S. nationals and Individual-2, was detained in a narrow hallway for approximately three hours at the airport. During that time, Belarusian authorities also escorted Individual-2 away from the other passengers and detained Individual-2. The Flight was ultimately allowed to depart from Minsk and continue to its original destination of Vilnius later that evening. No bomb was ever on the Flight. //
Soon after the diversion of the Flight, Belarusian government officials began to cover up what had happened. On or about May 24, 2021, the day after the Flight was diverted, Churo appeared at a press conference in Belarus with other Belarusian officials to address the Flight’s diversion. During the press conference, Churo stated falsely the Belarusian authorities had “done everything according to their technology and their job responsibilities” in handling the Flight. In reality, Churo knew that he and his co-conspirators had contrived the false bomb threat and had directed the Flight to divert to Minsk so that Belarusian security services could arrest Individual-1 and Individual-2. To further conceal the defendants’ plot, Kazyuchits directed Belarusian air traffic authorities to create false incident reports, including by doctoring the reports to misrepresent that the bomb threat was received at approximately the same time that the Flight entered Belarusian airspace and omit the fact that Fnu Lnu of the Belarusian security services was present in the operations room and directed activity during the Flight’s diversion. //
An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
Ryanair flight 4978 from Athens to Vilnius was forcibly diverted to Minsk while passing through Belarus airspace on Sunday, 23 May. The flight was 72 kilometers from Vilnius (VNO) when it made a 180 degree turn before diverting to Minsk at the behest of authorities in Belarus. The aircraft was allowed to depart about 7 hours after landing. //
On 20 January 2022, the United States charged four Belarusian government officials with aircraft piracy for forcibly diverting Ryanair flight 4978. The US was able to bring the charges because four of the passengers onboard the flight were US nationals. The charging documents for the first time lay out US version of how the flight was diverted. Those charged are either employees of the state air navigation service provider or state security services. //

An attack attempt in 2020 proves the UAS threat is real—and not enough is being done to stop it.
In July of last year, a DJI Mavic 2 drone approached a Pennsylvania power substation. Two 4-foot nylon ropes dangled from its rotors, a thick copper wire connected to the ends with electrical tape. The device had been stripped of any identifiable markings, as well as its onboard camera and memory card, in an apparent effort by its owner to avoid detection. Its likely goal, according to a joint security bulletin released by DHS, the FBI, and the National Counterterrorism Center, was to “disrupt operations by creating a short circuit.”
The drone crashed on the roof of an adjacent building before it reached its ostensible target, damaging a rotor in the process. Its operator still hasn’t been found. According to the bulletin, the incident, which was first reported by ABC, constitutes the first known instance of a modified, unmanned aircraft system being used to “specifically target” US energy infrastructure. It seems unlikely to be the last, however.
Why in the world was the passenger in custody for “several hours”? They didn’t do anything wrong.
In short the reason is due to,
1, Uncertainty.
2, Political wallpapering. //
So “uncertainty” will always be there even if the probavility is very small.
Which is where we move from demonstrating “uncertainty” to demonstrating “political wallpapering”.
From a political perspective if it became known after a bomb went off that some one had alerted the authorities and the authorities failed to investigate then it would at the very least be a total PR disaster[2] for the politicians.
So to avoid such “PR disasters” happening for “Politicians” they have authorities under their nominal control issue avoidence rules that effectively say,
“Until proven otherwise all notified threats are to be treated as credible and must be acted upon.”
So if person B says the object person A has in their possession is a security threat the “Untill proven otherwise…” rule kicks in untill the uncertainty is resolved.
However this rule is not just in relation to aircraft security… //
Thus a “Political Rule” has become a weapon in it’s own right. That can be used against individuals and organisations via “denial of XXX” be it “Service”, “Rights”, “Liberty”, “Reputation”, etc, etc.
As we saw with the “bomb in a printer” scare, some years back, the bomb does not have to be viable in any way what so ever to cause very substantial damage.
The thing is it is a “no win” issue no matter what you do. 9/11 two decades back happened because those who committed the acts, had previously tested and found they could get box-cutters onto aircraft in their pockets or “carry on”.
Any expert will tell you “any object can be seen as a weapon” all that has to be done is “Work out how to realise the transformation”.
Joe Biden has presided over one of the bloodiest days of our war in Afghanistan. That day was made possible solely by his incompetence and, sad to say, the spinelessness and/or incompetence of the chain of command of the US military. Young men were put needlessly at risk to do a hazardous mission that did not need to have been done. We didn’t need to operate from a single airfield. We didn’t need to let the Taliban occupy half of that airfield. We didn’t need to put our security in the hands of the Taliban. We didn’t need to evacuate US and allied nationals and our Afghan allies under these circumstances. This situation didn’t just develop organically. These were all of these choices made by the Biden White House and its commissars in the Defense and State Departments.
It didn’t have to be this way, but it is, and Joe Biden owns all of this.
But the final clue was the clotheslines on the compound, which flapped each day with women’s garments, shalwar kameez worn by Pakistani men, children’s outfits and diapers — far more than the 11 members of the bodyguards’ families could ever wear.
The invisible inhabitants, according to the agents’ laundry calculations, had to include an adult man, several adult women, and at least nine children, a perfect fit for the polygamous patriarch they were seeking.
After more than nine years in hiding, Osama bin Laden was betrayed by his family’s laundry.
That was enough for Panetta. On Dec. 14, 2010, he presented the CIA’s evidence to then-President Barack Obama.
Agents never managed to capture a clearly identifiable image of bin Laden to prove they had finally uncovered his hiding place. But "they also never found evidence that undercut the notion that he was living there," Bergen writes.
Obama was convinced. He ordered the Navy to begin planning the operation that would ultimately, on May 1, 2011, snuff out the terror master at age 54 — a decision that might never have been made if bin Laden had thought to give his wives a clothes dryer.
Here is how Tucker Carlson describes that memo and their intentions:
“Because of January 6, says the chief law enforcement officer in the United States of America and many other members of Joe Biden’s cabinet, we must now use law enforcement and military force to arrest, imprison, and otherwise crush anyone who leads opposition to Joe Biden’s government. That’s their position. They say that out loud. They did today.”
Sorry, Democrats. I stand firm with the Trump supporters who attended the 6 Jan. rally and did not enter the Capitol and were simply exercising their constitutionally guaranteed right to political speech, as well as their support for President Trump. That the Democrats are doing their utmost to paint them/us all with the broad brush of being “domestic terrorists” is analogous to the Stasi condemning East Germans trying to escape to the freedoms and liberty in the West in the 1950s and 1960s as being “criminals” and “enemies of the Communist state.” I will gladly characterize myself as an “enemy of the Democrat/Communist state” that the Hologram and his minions are implementing, as well as a celebrator of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights that they hate!
And by their perverted definition of the phrase “domestic terrorist,” and in memory of JFK’s memorable speech 58 years ago this month, I will gladly state that “Ich bin ein inländischer terroristischen”!
While Joe Biden’s legislative policies will have a lasting, damaging impact on the country, and already have in some cases (inflation caused by the massive COVID “relief” bill, for example), what’s not talked about much is his impact on the bureaucracies.
After all, that’s where the real power lies in our system. Elected officials are often just weak quasi-celebrities with little ability to propagate any real change. Meanwhile, a determined group of bureaucrats can make regulations, target their political enemies with state power, and generally enact massive societal change — and you won’t even know their names.
The Founders never intended for such a corrupt system to become the country’s standard procedure, but here we are, and Democrats are keen to take advantage of it. We saw what the often-called “deep state” was capable of during the Donald Trump era. Now, Biden is looking to super-size that effort, and it should terrify you. //

Biden’s “domestic terrorism” plan of attack. At least $100 million for “DOJ, FBI, and DHS to ensure that the Federal Government has the analysts, investigators, prosecutors, and other personnel and resources it needs to thwart domestic terrorism.” //
What is “domestic terrorism?” Well, it’s pretty much whatever a bunch of left-wing ideologues want it to be. And after Biden and his cohorts hire hundreds of new “analysts” from biased think-tanks and activist groups, what they will want it to be is Republicans of all shapes and sizes. //
Why are we needing to spend $100 million to combat “extremism” when other causes of violence are a far, far greater threat to the average American?
None of this makes sense until you realize it’s all political. White supremacy is a catch-all to target political adversaries of the left. The definition is always expanding, and when mixed with ideologies like critical race theory, suddenly every white Republican is a white supremacist by birth worthy of cracking down on. Heck, Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin is being called one by his own colleagues.
This doesn’t stop until these agencies are dismantled from top to bottom. That has to happen the next time a Republican becomes president. But what the country can’t handle right now is another influx of rabid ideologues into a bureaucracy that already has no credibility. Whatever can be done to stop this from happening must be done.
A pilot aboard a Ryanair jetliner forced to land in Belarus over the weekend repeatedly questioned air-traffic controllers about their request to reroute the plane to Minsk amid a purported bomb threat, according to a partial transcript released Tuesday by Belarus’ government aviation agency.
The transcript hasn’t been independently verified. . Several pilots and security experts asked to review the accounting by The Wall Street Journal said it appeared to be genuine, based on the terminology and back-and-forth typical of such conversations. Some said the Ryanair pilots, who repeatedly asked for clarification about the airport at which they were being asked to land, seemed surprised by the request to divert to Minsk.
“They definitely hesitated,“ said Ben Berman, a retired U.S. airline captain and former accident investigator who is now an airline safety consultant. ”They didn’t just accept the statement of the controller.”//
European officials have called a bomb threat improbable, and the European Union has restricted its carriers from flying over Belarus. European and U.S. officials have condemned the detour as a brazen act of interference in commercial aviation and have called for an investigation. Air industry and aviation safety officials say if the bomb threat was faked, it represents a dangerous precedent that could erode trust between commercial airlines and the countries they fly over.
Belarus has said it acted according to international protocols after receiving correspondence from Hamas, the militant group that governs the Gaza Strip, that a bomb aboard was set to detonate over Vilnius. Hamas hasn’t responded to requests for comment.
Iran’s hard-line parliament in December approved a bill that would suspend part of UN inspections of its nuclear facilities if European signatories did not provide relief from oil and banking sanctions by February.
The IAEA struck a three-month deal with Iran to have it hold the surveillance images, with Tehran threatening to delete them afterward if no deal had been reached.
It’s not clear now if they’ve deleted those three months’ worth of images. But, it means the IAEA has no ability to assess what Iran has been doing. Imagine the temerity to play around IAEA like this.
So, the normal reaction one should have to this is that they’ve been playing these games, one should not bend over for them — because they haven’t acted in accordance with the deal, to begin with.
Iran has already shot far past the maximum allowable uranium enrichment levels defined in the Obama-era deal. They’re now up in the range of 63 percent enrichment using their new IR-4 centrifuges and have announced that they will soon be installing their IR-9 centrifuges which are allegedly far faster and more efficient. This puts them only a few steps away from being able to make a bomb.
Why would you continue to lift sanctions, given these games? But, unfortunately, that’s exactly what Biden is doing.
Just to give you an idea of what Israel is dealing with and why those cheering on Hamas are on the side of absolute evil, I submit to you the following video.
In an attempt to minimize civilian casualties in its ongoing war with terrorists, Israel warns Gazan citizens where they’re going to strike next. The Israeli Defense Force phoned one man in an effort to have him evacuate him and his family before they bombed a Hamas target.
IDF is heard pleading with the man to evacuate so that he and his children don’t die, but the Gazan made it clear that he wants him and his children to die so that it can be used against Israel:
Gazan man: You want to bomb? Bomb whatever you want.
IDF: No, brother. We need to do everything we can so you don’t die.
Gazan man: We want to die.
IDF: But you have a responsibility for children’s lives.
Gazan man: If the children need to die then they’ll die.
IDF: God forbid. God forbid. What do you want? To die?
Gazan man: This is how we reveal our cruelty. //
Golda Meir (Prime Minister of Israel from February 1969 to June 1974): “We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us”.
