Most pollsters show Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden with a sturdy and stable lead over President Trump at a time when tens of millions of people have already voted and there is almost no time to change the course of the race.

But a handful of contrarian pollsters believe Trump's support is underrepresented and that election analysts could be headed for another embarrassing miss on Election Day.

We are supposed to believe that Trump 2016 supporters have flocked to this in the name of “decency.” What about anything the Democrat party has peddled for the last 4 years has been decent? What about repeatedly linking Donald Trump to white supremacists, despite numerous statements of rejection of their ideology by the man, is decent? //

Are there some people who have switched? Probably. But do they rival the number of people, like me, who voted for Johnson, or McMullin, or stayed home, or whatever kept them from voting for Trump in 2016, ENTHUSIASTICALLY voting for him in 2020? Not even close.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Biden is the oligarchs’ favorite pet. Forbes reports that he’s wrangled donations from 151 billionaires (as opposed to Trump’s 99). According to Wired, Biden received 95 percent of employee contributions from Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, and Oracle, which explains the recent social media blackouts. With this cash flow, he’s managed to spend more on TV campaign ads than any presidential candidate in history. //

At this point, I’ll take a hyperbolic barker who’ll tell a couple of big truths over a blank-faced dotard backed by sophisticated propaganda. At least the orange guy’s actions will be held up to scrutiny.

Trump may be a used car salesman trying to sell my own lemon back to me, but you know what? I’d like to have America back. And I’m willing to pay for it.

“Our insurance company is finding their way out so they don’t have to pay for all this arson,” Khindri wrote on Car Source’s Go Fund Me fundraising page.

Now, Khindri is working with a lawyer to convince his insurer to cover at least some of the damages, which he estimates to total about $2.5 million.

Khindri did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment on the situation.

However, Khindri told Kenosha News that the city is pressuring him to clean up his lot and remove the burned vehicles.

“He didn’t do this,” John Morrissey, director of Kenosha’s Department of City Inspections, told Kenosha News. “We understand that. But he does have to clean it up.”

But the problem is, Khindri told the newspaper, “if something does go through, the [insurance] adjuster is going to come … to look at the cars” and assess the damage. The adjuster can’t do that if the owners remove the vehicles, he said.

His burned-out dealership “does look bad, but [the city] let it all happen,” Khindri said. “They don’t want to admit it.”

[T]he Secretary’s actions in altering the deadline for mail-in ballots likely violates the Electors Clause of Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution. The analysis is relatively straightforward. By its plain terms, the Electors Clause vests the power to determine the manner of selecting electors exclusively in the “Legislature” of each state. U.S. Const. art. II, § 1, cl. 2… And this vested authority is not just the typical legislative power exercised pursuant to a state constitution. Rather, when a state legislature enacts statutes governing presidential elections, it operates “by virtue of a direct grant of authority” under the United States Constitution… Consequently, only the Minnesota Legislature, and not the Secretary, has plenary authority to establish the manner of conducting the presidential election in Minnesota.

Thus, the Secretary’s attempt to re-write the laws governing the deadlines for mail-in ballots in the 2020 Minnesota presidential election is invalid. However well-intentioned and appropriate from a policy perspective in the context of a pandemic during a presidential election, it is not the province of a state executive official to re-write the state’s election code, at least as it pertains to selection of presidential electors. The democratically-enacted election rules in Minnesota provide that mail-in votes must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted (or 3:00 p.m. if delivered in person).

As Abraham Lincoln said a few weeks before he issued the Emancipation Proclamation,  “The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present.” The plain fact is that the future of American politics will not be marked by a return to an era of establishment rule because the establishment has failed.

Our institutions are not weak because of Trump, they are weak because our elites failed to maintain them. Our norms have not been undermined by Trump, they have been undermined by ordinary Americans who came to realize those norms were merely a cover for rank hypocrisy from our leaders. All of this has been decades in the making, and now it has come to pass.

And none of it can be wiped away by an election. The bell that sounded with Trump’s election four years ago, heralding a new populist era in American, cannot be un-rung. //
