Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Addresses Fears of Texas Turning Blue In the Wake of Relocating Californians

Abbott said that the number one question he gets from Texans is about whether or not these Californians coming here for jobs will regress the state into something that looks more like the overpriced and overregulated state of California.

“I have great news for them,” said Abbott. “These relocations are not going to change the politics in Texas, and we have mathematical proof for it.”

“Two years ago, I was on the same ballot that Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke were on the ballot,” said Abbott. “We did an exit poll asking people after they left the polls, did you vote for Ted Cruz or did you vote for Beto O’Rourke, and then we asked them ‘did you move California or are you a native-born Texan. The results of that poll showed that 58 percent of the people who moved from California voted for Ted Cruz.”

“Interestingly, that almost identically matches a separate poll that was taken — also an exit poll from the same election — that showed that 57 percent of the people who moved from California voted for Ted Cruz and both of those polls matched a study that was done a couple of years before that that asked Californians who came to Texas ‘are you conservative or are you liberal?’ Fifty-seven percent of the people who moved from California said they were conservative, 27 percent of the people who moved from California said they were liberal,” added Abbott.

Trump Honors Catholic Martyr St. Thomas Becket

President Donald Trump declared Dec. 29 the anniversary of the Roman Catholic martyr St. Thomas Becket, honoring the 12th-century English bishop as “a lion of religious liberty.”

“Thomas Becket’s death serves as a powerful and timeless reminder to every American that our freedom from religious persecution is not a mere luxury or accident of history, but rather an essential element of our liberty,” the president’s proclamation said. “It is our priceless treasure and inheritance. And it was bought with the blood of martyrs.” //

The president’s proclamation heralds Becket as the precursor to “numerous constitutional limitations on the power of the state over the Church across the West,” particularly the Magna Carta, which declared that “[T]he English church shall be free, and shall have its rights undiminished and its liberties unimpaired.”

Ron DeSantis Shows Why He's a 2024 Favorite, Gives Epic Answer to Preening Reporter

DeSantis also got rid of the 2 corrupt County Election Superviors-Brenda Snipes in Broward and Susan Bucher in West Palm. He allowed Snipes the dignity of resigning. But Bucher was stubborn. DeSantis said she ran the 2018 elections like the “keystone cops”. I remember watching the press conference when he said that. I nearly spit my coffee out. He has done some great things for our state in a short time. He got legislation passed to make companies used e-verify so they can’t hire illegal aliens. He passed a bill that makes it illegal to be a sanctuary city. Signed a law that stops teenagers under 18 from getting abortions without a parent or guardian’s consent. It doesn’t seem like a big abortion win but at least it’s a start. I would guess many parents will not give their permission. DeSantis just announced that he wrote legislation that he wants passed in the next session. It expands the Stand Your Ground law to protect your property from rioters and looters when they are within 500 ft of your property. He also has another bill that makes mandatory jail time for rioters and looters. After the George Floyd death and subsequent cities getting burned to the ground we had very few problems here in FL. A couple of places had fires set in big box businesses the first night. The second night the National Guard was called up. FL state troopers, sheriffs and local police were crawling all over the place. There was also a 10pm curfew statewide. There was not a single problem on night two. DeSantis has even expanded school choice without spending a taxpayer’s dime by getting private corporations involved. I can’t imagine what this state would look like if Gillum won.

Steve Jobs' Widow: 'Not Right for Individuals to Accumulate Massive Wealth'; Did I Mention She's Worth $27.5 Billion?

“It’s not right for individuals to accumulate a massive amount of wealth that’s equivalent to millions and millions of other people combined. There’s nothing fair about that.

“We saw that at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with the Rockefellers and Carnegies and Mellons and Fords of the world. That kind of accumulation of wealth is dangerous for a society. It shouldn’t be this way.”

Coupla questions.

  • What is unfair about family wealth remaining within the family that created it?

  • What is fair about taking that wealth from that family and arbitrarily redistributing it to random strangers?

  • Why is retained family wealth dangerous for a society?

  • Why shouldn’t it be this way, and who should determine that it won’t?

Renowned economists Thomas Sowell and Walter E. Williams said it best.

Thomas Sowell.

“I have never understood why it is ‘greed’ to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else’s money.”

And Dr. Williams:

“But let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you — and why?”

Abstract

This study provides measures of vote fraud in the 2020 presidential election. It first compares Fulton county’s precincts that are adjacent to similar precincts in neighboring counties that had no allegations of fraud to isolate the impact of Fulton county’s vote-counting process (including potential fraud). In measuring the difference in President Trump’s vote share of the absentee ballots for these adjacent precincts, we account for the difference in his vote share of the in-person voting and the difference in registered voters’ demographics. The best estimate shows an unusual 7.81% drop in Trump’s percentage of the absentee ballots for Fulton County alone of 11,350 votes, or over 80% of Biden’s vote lead in Georgia. The same approach is applied to Allegheny County in Pennsylvania for both absentee and provisional ballots. The estimated number of fraudulent votes from those two sources is about 55,270 votes.

Second, vote fraud can increase voter turnout rate. Increased fraud can take many forms: higher rates of filling out absentee ballots for people who hadn’t voted, dead people voting, ineligible people voting, or even payments to legally registered people for their votes. However, the increase might not be as large as the fraud if votes for opposing candidates are either lost, destroyed, or replaced with ballots filled out for the other candidate. The estimates here indicate that there were 70,000 to 79,000 “excess” votes in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Adding Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin, the total increases to up to 289,000 excess votes.

Elon Musk says SpaceX will attempt to recover Super Heavy rocket by catching it with launch tower – TechCrunch
thumbnail

SpaceX will try a significantly different approach to landing its future reusable rocket boosters, according to CEO and founder Elon Musk. It will attempt to ‘catch’ the heavy booster, which is currently in development, using the launch tower arm used to stabilize the vehicle during its pre-takeoff preparations. Current Falcon 9 boosters return to Earth and land propulsively on their own built-in legs – but the goal with Super Heavy is for the larger rocket not to have legs at all, says Musk.

The Super Heavy launch process will still involve use of its engines to control the velocity of its descent, but it will involve using the grid fins that are included on its main body to help control its orientation during flight to ‘catch’ the booster – essentially hooking it using the launch tower arm before it touches the ground at all. //

Another potential benefit raised by Musk is that it could allow SpaceX to essentially recycle the Super Heavy booster immediately back on the launch mount it returns to – possibly enabling it to be ready to fly again with a new payload and upper stage (consisting of Starship, the other spacecraft SpaceX is currently developing and testing) in “under an hour.”

10 False Climate Predictions for 2020

Long before Beto O’Rourke claimed the world only had 10 years left for humans to act against climate change, alarmists had spent decades predicting one doomsday scenario after another, each of which stubbornly failed to materialize. It seems climate armageddon has taken a permanent sabbatical.

Many of those doomsday predictions specifically mentioned the annus horribilus of 2020. Those predictions also failed, some rather spectacularly.

Steve Milloy, a former Trump/Pence EPA transition team member and founder of JunkScience.com, compiled ten climate predictions for 2020 that fell far off the mark.

  1. Average global temperature up 3 degrees Celsius

  2. Global emissions

the CO2 in the atmosphere hasn’t come close to doubling since 1978. According to NOAA, in March 1978 when the Sun published this article, there were 335 parts per million of CO2 in the atmosphere. In February 2020, NOAA reported 413 parts per million in the atmosphere. That represents an increase of 23 percent, a far cry from doubling the concentration (which would be 670 parts per million).

  1. Emissions from India and China.

According to the World Bank, India emitted 1.2 million kilotons of CO2 in 2005 and 2.4 million kilotons of CO2 in 2018, the last year data is available, a 200 percent increase. China, meanwhile, emitted 5.9 million kilotons in 2005 and 9.9 million kilotons in 2016, a 168 percent increase.

  1. No snow on Mount Kilimanjaro

  2. Rising sea levels in the Sunshine State

According to NOAA, the sea level at Virginia Key has risen by about 9 centimeters, which works out to 3.54 inches.

  1. People will become unfamiliar with snow

  2. Pacific islands economies devastated

  3. Global conflict and nuclear war

  4. The end of Arctic ice

In April 2013, the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette reported that NOAA scientists predicted “ranges for an ice-free Arctic from 2020 to after 2040.”

  1. Glaciers gone at Glacier National Park

In March 2009, U.S. Geological Survey ecologist Daniel Fagre predicted that the glaciers in Montana’s Glacier National Park would disappear by 2020.

Mark Levin: 'On January 6, We Learn Whether Our Constitution Will Hold'; and 'Whether Congressional Republicans Care'

“The 2020 presidential election was, in several targeted battleground states, an unconstitutional electoral exercise. Even putting aside evidence of significant fraud, virtually none of which received a hearing by our courts, events leading up to and including the November national election constituted a radical and grave departure from the federal electoral system adopted by the framers of the Constitution and the state ratification conventions.” //

During the Constitutional Convention, Levin noted, the Founders discussed several proposals for selecting a president.

“Should the president be directly elected by the people? That proposal was rejected out of concern that such a purely democratic process could be hijacked by a temporary majority.

“Should the president be chosen in the first instance from within the national legislature? That proposal was also rejected on grounds of separation of powers.

“Should the judiciary play a role in the selection of the president? That idea was dispensed with as being the most objectionable, as judges were to be the least political of all public officials.”

The importance of the Electoral College.

“The framers deliberatively and with much thought created the Electoral College process,” Levin explained, “in which the people and their elected legislatures — both state and national — would play important roles.”

“But the electoral process rested first and foremost on the state legislatures directing how the electors would be chosen. The reason: While rejecting the direct election of a president, the framers concluded that the state legislatures were closest to the people in their respective states and would be the best representatives of their interests.” //

“After the 2016 election, the Democrat Party, its various surrogate groups, and eventually the Biden campaign unleashed hundreds of lawsuits and an unrelenting lobbying campaign in key states that had previously been won by President Trump, taking unconstitutional measures intended to stop President Trump from winning these states in the 2020 election, thereby literally undoing this critical constitutional provision.”
