Biden Climate Advisor Says Nuclear Energy Is "Essential" – RedState

The environmental battle has always been a game of political ping pong. Republicans take office and open up the energy sector. Democrats take office and restrict it. Back and forth, election after election. The battle has always been painted as “socialist hippies” versus “greedy capitalist pigs” and even though the subject is much more nuanced, our media knows nothing of nuance these days. //

The truth is that the best compromise for meeting our energy and environmental needs is nuclear energy. It is clean, efficient, and extraordinarily safe in its most modern iterations. France has learned the value of nuclear energy and leads the way in clean energy production. It seems unthinkable that America is still arguing about solar panels when we have access to an energy source that could meet the demands of both those dirty hippies and capitalist pigs.

A DC-3 Transport Aircraft Makes an Eye-Catching RV | The Drive

The former-plane-turned-RV draws plenty of attention when it's out on the highway.

It's not every day you see an aircraft rolling down the highway, and if you did, you'd be forgiven for thinking there's been some kind of in-flight disaster followed by an emergency landing. However, in the case of the Fabulous Flamingo, what you'd actually be looking at is a custom-built RV put together by Gino Lucci and his son Giacinto.

Our Other Huge Death Toll

The CCP virus death toll in the United States is now, May 20, 2021, by one count, 593,419. Another has the count at 601,969. The New York Times reports 587,499. The variation among the counts is not great; the magnitude is clear.

Although there has been much agonizing over differential death rates among different races or ethnicities, allegedly due to “structural racism,” in fact the death toll has tracked population percentage quite closely. The 60.1 percent of whites in the population have suffered 60.7 percent of the deaths; the 18.5 percent of Hispanics in the population have suffered 18.6 percent of the deaths; the 13.4 percent of blacks in the population have suffered 14.8 percent of the deaths; and the 5.9 percent of Asians in the population suffered 3.9 percent of the deaths. If wealth and poverty are held constant, the differences between the races would more or less disappear.

There is a substantial differential death rate associated with sex. Males have suffered 314,875 deaths, in comparison with the 259,170 deaths of females. So far we have heard no accusations of “systemic sexism,” because, you know, “the future is female.” //

Annually, the better part of a million American babies are killed by abortion. The figures from the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute are 874,100 American abortions for 2016 and 862,300 abortions for 2017. Guttmacher collects its statistics directly from abortion providers. (CDC figures, around 200,000 lower, suffer from non-submission of statistics by New Hampshire, Maryland, and California.) //

According to the relative percentages in the (underestimated) CDC figures, abortions by race and ethnicity in 2018 were as follows:

Non-Hispanic white women: 239,782 estimated abortions
Non-Hispanic black women: 208,183 estimated abortions
Hispanic women: 123,918 estimated abortions
Others: 47,709 estimated abortions
These figures show that black women, at 13 percent of the female population, account for 34 percent of the abortions, while white women, at 60 percent of the female population, account for 39 percent of the abortions. Hispanic women, at 18.5 percent of the female population, account for 20 percent of abortions.

Abortions of black babies are almost three times higher than the black population, which is why the percentage of black Americans gradually shrinks over the years. Abortions of Hispanic babies matches the population percentage of Hispanics. Abortions of white and other babies are much lower than their percentage of the population, one reason that the percentage of whites does not shrink. //

The number of American babies killed in the womb (or after birth) does not tell the entire story. If we consider “years of lives lost,” calculated on the basis of American life expectancy—81 for females, 77 for males, for an average of 79—the 862,300 abortions of 2017 would be a loss of 68,121,700 years of lives lost. Sixty-eight million years of American lives lost! //

The birthrate in the United States has been falling for years. In 2019 it was 1.7, well below the replacement rate of 2.1. In many places across the globe, the birthrate has fallen. //

This seems to happen as modernization and urbanization increase. Children are no longer needed for family productive labor, and become financial liabilities, pets rather than workers.

In America and elsewhere, secularization and the decline of mainline churches has contributed to the decline, as practices once prohibited are now not only accepted, but celebrated.

Judge Backs Biden: Christian College Must Allow Biological Males in Women's Showers – RedState

Biden and the “Party of Women’s Rights” enthusiastically support biological males kicking the hell out of biological females in women’s sports. In effect, it’s a perfect “Animal Farm” parallel: “All females are equal. But some ‘females’ are more equal than others.”

The fact remains, women of American, your rights as a biological female have been usurped — with the blessing of Biden and the Democrats. Your former number-one place in line has been handed by so-called “progressives” to biological males. //

Of course, Biden’s directive forced religious institutions to violate not only their views but a core tenet of their faith, as well. Does this remind anyone of anything?

Remember when a 2015 Supreme Court ruling made same-sex marriage the law of the land? Remember also how same-sex couples promptly rushed to Christian churches and demanded to be married?

In contrast, remember how same-sex couples did not rush to Muslim mosques or Buddhist temples and demand to be married in either of those “houses of worship,” as well? //

Alliance Defending Freedom is representing College of the Ozarks in its legal fight. Senior counsel Julie Marie Blake said in a statement:

“The government cannot and should not force schools to open girls’ dorms to males based on its politically motivated and inappropriate redefinition of ‘sex.’

“Women shouldn’t be forced to share private spaces — including showers and dorm rooms — with males, and religious schools shouldn’t be punished simply because of their beliefs about marriage and biological sex.

Government overreach by the Biden administration continues to victimize women, girls, and people of faith by gutting their legal protections, and it must be stopped.”

Trump Completely Levels the NY AG in Response to Announcement of Criminal Investigation – RedState

There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation that is in desperate search of a crime. But, make no mistake, that is exactly what is happening here.

The Attorney General of New York literally campaigned on prosecuting Donald Trump even before she knew anything about me. She said that if elected, she would use her office to look into “every aspect” of my real estate dealings. She swore that she would “definitely sue” me. She boasted on video that she would be, and I quote, “a real pain in the ass.” She declared, “just wait until I’m in the Attorney General’s office,” and, ”I’ve got my eyes on Trump Tower.” She also promised that, if elected, she would “join with law enforcement and other Attorney Generals across this nation in removing this President from office,” and, “It’s important that everyone understand that the days of Donald Trump are coming to an end.” The Attorney General made each of these statements, not after having had an opportunity to actually look at the facts, but BEFORE she was even elected, BEFORE she had seen even a shred of evidence. This is something that happens in failed third world countries, not the United States. If you can run for a prosecutor’s office pledging to take out your enemies, and be elected to that job by partisan voters who wish to enact political retribution, then we are no longer a free constitutional democracy.

Pennsylvanians Strike a Blow to Tyranny and Republicans Get Some Really Good News – RedState

The results are in from last night’s referendum on Gov. Tom Wolf’s tyrannical COVID orders. In both cases on the ballot the votes to limit the power of future “emergency orders” passed, putting a constitutional barrier between petty Democrats who seek to weaponize “the science” instead of doing what’s legal and logical.

Watch: Joe Biden Begins Yelling in the Middle of a Speech for No Apparent Reason – RedState

The elephant in the room here is that the violent crimes against Asian-Americans are not just committed by white supremacists. They’re also committed by black people and to a significant degree, as Asian-American writer Ying Ma noted here in a recent piece:

In 2018, when neither ordinary people nor Trump had heard of the coronavirus, blacks committed more hate crimes against Asians more than any other race, according to national hate crime statistics compiled by the Justice Department. Figures for 2020 are not yet available.

When the utilities left him stranded, a homeowner went off-grid with solar + storage

Many homeowners might have given up and bought a different home when faced with the utility hassle that landowner Derrick Zearley experienced. Instead, he looked to solar + storage to avoid interconnection altogether.

Zearley purchased land located on a boundary of two utility territories in Anderson County, South Carolina — Duke Energy and its energy cooperative Blue Ridge Electric. That led to a back-and-forth between Duke and Blue Ridge to determine whose territory it actually was. When Duke Energy laid claim to the plot, the next step in the process was getting signed petitions from Zearley’s neighbors to give right of way on their properties to run electricity to the site.

But after distributing the petitions, no neighbors signed. With half a year lost to the utilities and unwilling neighbors, Zearley reached out to Palmetto State Solar (now Firefly Solar), an installer based in Greenville, and pitched the idea of an off-grid solar system to be built for, and alongside, a 5,500-sq.-ft building in an unelectrified remote location in South Carolina.
