For years, the GCC and the FSF were connected at the hip, but after Richard M. Stallman's return to the FSF board, the GCC steering committee had enough.

Damore launched a lawsuit against Google that highlighted its culture of ideological exclusion and favoritism based on race and gender, a claim that was later found to be true, proving Damore correct. Google was actually paying women more than men for the same job.
Damore’s crime was pointing out the obvious and true, if not inconvenient to the mainstream narrative. Bobb’s apparent non-crime was accusing an entire race of people of being viscious warmongers.
Google seems to have a very upside-down view on what you can fire people for. State science and you’ll be fired. Be racist against the rite people and you’ll just be relocated to a different part of it.
Biological males who identify as female could be allowed in all-women prisons across the nation if the Equality Act is passed and signed by President Joe Biden’s Democrat administration, “no hormones or surgery required.” //
“Remember that this would violate the Geneva Convention if it were done to prisoners of war. It’s horrifying, and it’s about to become federal law. If the Equality Act passes, it will become federal law in all 50 states,” Shrier said. “Joe Biden has already indicated he would sign this bill into law. It’s right now in the Senate, and really for the safety and bodily integrity of these women, it really should be stopped.” //
“They won’t need to transfer in from men’s prisons anymore. They’ll go straight into women, they will be recorded as women, and their violence against women will be recorded as women on women violence. And remember, the thing to remember is that over half of men who are transgender are heterosexual.”
So who are the scientists who signed this letter? Numerous experts in the field from across the world have one thing in common: All roads run through Peter Daszak. Daszak, as you may remember, is the President of EcoHealth Alliance, and how NIH grants were funneled to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Dr. Shi Zhengli. Daszak himself teamed up with Dr. Shi on gain-of-function research studies that created mutated coronavirus versions and then tested those viral strains on animal and human cells. Daszak, who also signed the Lancet letter, has every reason in the world to want to eradicate the lab-leak theory, ultimately because his rear end may be in the sling if it is revealed to be from there.
In my research, I came across a trove of emails from the University of Colorado and the University of Maryland that shows exactly how this letter came to be and that the final words of the piece “we declare no competing interests,” were absolute hogwash.
To start, of the letter’s 27 signatories, 5 of them are either employees or board members of EcoHealth Alliance. //
As we have pointed out, there has already been a conflict of interest for at least 5 of the signatories, but is there more?
Why yes, there is. The above-mentioned email was released by Colorado State University after questions were raised regarding the relationship between the University and EcoHealth Alliance. Turns out, in 2017, Jonathan Epstein, VP with EcoHealth Alliance, attempted to work with the university to import bats to Colorado as a means of studying bat-bourne viruses and how they may transmit to humans. The arrangement was going to be between EcoHealth Alliance, Colorado State University, and…the NIAID, the organization run by Dr. Anthony Fauci.
It seems that every single person who acted as a signatory had a conflict that they didn’t disclose. //
Beyond the fact there is no scientific way that Daszak could have proved that the viral outbreak was absolutely a natural spillover, why was he rushing to immediately call any question regarding the lab a conspiracy theory? This effort started in January of 2020, long before we even knew how severe this was going to be. What did Daszak know that the rest of us didn’t? Would this letter have ever happened had it not been for Peter Daszak? Why would Daszak be circling the wagons before the start of the pandemic?

Although I’ve seriously considered renting a car through Turo multiple times, I’ve instead opted for a more expensive rental through a traditional car rental company. And, the primary reason each time was a concern about insurance.
Of 47 nations surveyed in Europe—a place where, on other matters, American progressives often look to with envy—all but one country requires a government-issued photo voter ID to vote. The exception is the UK, and even there voter IDs are mandatory in Northern Ireland for all elections and in parts of England for local elections. Moreover, Boris Johnson’s government recently introduced legislation to have the rest of the country follow suit. //
74 percent of European countries entirely ban absentee voting for citizens who reside domestically. Another 6 percent limit it to those hospitalized or in the military, and they require third-party verification and a photo voter ID. Another 15 percent require a photo ID for absentee voting. //
Similarly, government-issued photo IDs are required to vote by 33 nations in the 37-member Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, which has considerable European overlap. Only the UK, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia currently do not require IDs. Of those outliers: //
In some countries, even driver’s licenses aren’t considered authoritative enough forms of voter identity verification. The Czech Republic and Russia require passports or military-issued IDs and others use national identity cards. Others go even further: Colombia and Mexico each require a biometric ID to cast a ballot. //
Mexico in 1991 mandated voter photo IDs with biometric information, banned absentee ballots, and required in-person voter registration. Despite making registration much more difficult and banning absentee ballots, voter participation rates rose after Mexico implemented the new rules. In the three presidential elections following the 1991 reforms, an average of 68 percent of the eligible citizens voted, compared with only 59 percent in the three elections prior to the rule changes. Seemingly, as people gained faith in the electoral process, they became more likely to vote.
To Matt Masterson, the review of 2020 ballots from Maricopa County, Ariz., that's underway is "performance art" or "a clown show," and definitely "a waste of taxpayer money."
But it's not an audit.
"It's an audit in name only," says Masterson, a former Department of Homeland Security official who helped lead the federal government's election security preparations leading up to November's election. "It's a threat to the overall confidence of democracy, all in pursuit of continuing a narrative that we know to be a lie."
By lie, he means the assertion from former President Donald Trump and some of his allies that election fraud cost him a second term in the White House.
And, Masterson says, the strategy chosen by the Arizona's Republican state Senate leaders is working as intended to undermine confidence in the outcome of last year's vote.
The process is a simple exercise in how disinformation spreads and takes hold in 2021. And experts fear it presents a blueprint for other states and lawmakers to follow, one that is already showing signs of being emulated across the country. //
Private "audit" efforts are now sprouting in other swing states like Michigan, Georgia and Wisconsin.
"The incentive structure that has been created is one in which so far we've seen zero accountability for lying and pushing these narratives," Masterson, the former DHS official, said. "We don't see anyone really, truly being held accountable."
Biden’s new budget proposal, intended to fund the American Families Plan, contains two intense tax increases, including estate and capital gains, which could reach up to 61 percent.
The project features a 345 megawatt sodium-cooled fast reactor with molten salt-based energy storage that could boost the system’s power output to 500MW during peak power demand. TerraPower said last year that the plants would cost about $1bn.
Late last year the US energy department awarded TerraPower $80m in initial funding to demonstrate Natrium technology, and the department has committed additional funding in coming years subject to congressional appropriations.
The claim of a premature announcement is not in any way believable. This was not a leak of, say, the key art in a surprise release of an unannounced work. There were announced dates of release, a cover price of $18 declared, and the availability of preorders through the book vendors, to go along with the ad copy one normally sees with an official rollout. This was the usual publishing push taking place — and for all of that to disappear in a wisp is telling.
