OB-2158-T (MSN 46091), which is now operating pretty-regularly for Amerijet, used to be N873SJ. AStar retired her at IGM on June 26, 2012, per planespotters.net. She was ressurrected and flown to VCV from IGM on May 26, 2017, where she stayed until 7/15/2019, about 2 years ago. She hasn't seen a lot of use since then. Shortly before retirement in 2012, she had 26368 cycles and 93090 hours. //
Both the DC10 and MD11 series are very sturdy built aircraft.
The MD/DC-10 series has a limit of validity of 160.000 hrs and 60.000 cycles, and only a few fatique related AD's.
However the MD11 series has a reduced cycle limit (lengthend fuselage, higher operating weights) : 40,000 cycles, so conseq. will have a shorted technical life than the DC-10 series.
Example : N383FE (MD10-10F) was retired at May 26th 2021 with the last recorded cycles (42343) at August 19 2020
Wolfram argued that, early on, the language saved its adopters from their darkest fear: “That they would always delegate the process of computation to somebody who would be down in the dungeon somewhere actually dealing with the computer.
“The big transformative thing that happened as a result of the release of Mathematica — and it happened rather quickly — was that people like theoretical physicists, mathematicians, things like this … Those kinds of people, were able to go from thinking of a computation to actually doing a computation directly, and were able to, therefore, get much further in lots and lots of different areas.
“And it’s been wonderful over the last third of a century to see all the inventions and discoveries that have been made using the technology that we built.”

TL;DR https://play.golang.org/p/LPkPTRF7fC
The above code looks quite plain and obvious, except it does something completely different than you'd expect (feel free to run it). The obvious thing that should happen is that it counts the number of bits set in the given string. The non-obvious thing that happens is that the mask is actually 0, not 0x01.
So, what happened there? The abuse in the above code is around the invisible Unicode characters that mark following text to be right-to-left or left-to-right. Since Go permits arbitrary Unicode characters to be present in string literals, it also allows me to have a string of the form "bla bla blaabc". Since we're dealing with valid Unicode sequences here, any modern editor/website will actually interpret those special characters, causing the content in between the two special marks to be reversed to the end of the line (alas still part of the string literal).
In my playground code this is abused by having the following source code:
str, mask := "Hello, World!<rtl>10x<ltr>", 0
Which will be displayed by all modern editors/websites as:
str, mask := "Hello, World!", 0x01
The security aspect of this issue is social engineering attacks. The "display" line of my sample code is obvious beyond doubt, so noone will ever inspect such a thing; however it managed to flip one bit in a mask (imagine doing this for file permission umasks). The issue is that such code could easily get past reviews and into a final product.
"Environmentalists should reduce their over-reliance on apocalyptic scenarios "that tend to create feelings of helplessness and isolation among would-be supporters," Shellenberger advises. "Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I Have a Dream' speech is famous because it put forward an inspiring, positive vision that carried a critique of the current moment within it. Imagine how history would have turned out had King given an 'I Have a Nightmare' speech instead.” Indeed, the key to a revitalized environmental movement will be the application of a belief King often expressed: Warnings of impending catastrophe, along with shame, protests and lawsuits, all have a role to play, but any movement will fail if it cannot paint an intensely attractive vision of the future, one that appeals to the mind and to the spirit."

ID requirements appear to be less stringent to vote absentee in Georgia than to enter an indoor establishment in Los Angeles. //
One of the major objections that Biden and his allies have had to the Georgia law is its enhanced ID requirements for proving one’s eligibility to vote. Contrast this with how supportive the left is of ID requirements for proving that one is vaccinated against COVID-19 and thus is worthy to participate in normal American life. //
If you want to walk into a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, gym, movie theater, sports arena, museum, concert venue, mall, bowling alley, arcade, pool hall, hair salon, nail salon, or barbershop (all of these places, and others, are specifically listed) in the nation’s second-largest city, you will have to show proof of vaccination — plus an ID. But if you want to vote in Georgia, having to show an ID — and nothing else — is allegedly the second coming of Jim Crow.
This would be ludicrous even apart from the fact that, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, white people are 20 percent more likely, per capita, to be vaccinated than black people. In other words, Los Angeles has imposed a vaccine mandate that has a disproportionate racial impact, on top of an ID requirement that is stricter than the ostensibly “un-American” voter ID requirement in Georgia.
At issue is a component of the digital text encoding standard Unicode, which allows computers to exchange information regardless of the language used. Unicode currently defines more than 143,000 characters across 154 different language scripts (in addition to many non-script character sets, such as emojis).
Specifically, the weakness involves Unicode’s bi-directional or “Bidi” algorithm, which handles displaying text that includes mixed scripts with different display orders, such as Arabic — which is read right to left — and English (left to right).
But computer systems need to have a deterministic way of resolving conflicting directionality in text. Enter the “Bidi override,” which can be used to make left-to-right text read right-to-left, and vice versa.
“In some scenarios, the default ordering set by the Bidi Algorithm may not be sufficient,” the Cambridge researchers wrote. “For these cases, Bidi override control characters enable switching the display ordering of groups of characters.”
Bidi overrides enable even single-script characters to be displayed in an order different from their logical encoding. As the researchers point out, this fact has previously been exploited to disguise the file extensions of malware disseminated via email.
Here’s the problem: Most programming languages let you put these Bidi overrides in comments and strings. This is bad because most programming languages allow comments within which all text — including control characters — is ignored by compilers and interpreters. Also, it’s bad because most programming languages allow string literals that may contain arbitrary characters, including control characters. //
“Therefore, by placing Bidi override characters exclusively within comments and strings, we can smuggle them into source code in a manner that most compilers will accept. Our key insight is that we can reorder source code characters in such a way that the resulting display order also represents syntactically valid source code.”
“Bringing all this together, we arrive at a novel supply-chain attack on source code. By injecting Unicode Bidi override characters into comments and strings, an adversary can produce syntactically-valid source code in most modern languages for which the display order of characters presents logic that diverges from the real logic. In effect, we anagram program A into program B.”
The same firms that volunteered to represent 9/11 terrorists pro bono now have no interest in defending the American citizens languishing in prison since January. //
At least 50 high-powered law firms that went out of their way to defend foreign terrorists in Guantanamo Bay free of charge are nowhere to be found as hundreds of American citizens languish in prison for charges related to entering the U.S. Capitol building during the January 6 riot.
When foreign terrorists, including the accused mastermind who helped plan the 9/11 attack, were being held in the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp, law firms from across the country volunteered to represent them pro bono. Now, nearly 600 Americans face an intense legal battle over their participation in the events of January 6, and these same firms are leaving them defenseless. Not one of the legal firms that assisted Gitmo terrorists have helped any of those charged with ties to January 6. //
Without a strong criminal defense, the government can take away individual rights without a clear demonstration of the guilt of the accused. The firms who trumpeted the right to a strong defense for everyone charged in the American legal system when it came to Guantanamo Bay are well aware of the need for a competent defense for citizens today, yet they have not allocated any resources to an equal defense for some accused of crimes.
the company itself posted official guidance on its website detailing how to circumvent the TPM 2.0 requirement. The process involves taking your Windows 10 machine and changing the registry key values in the OS to ignore the check for TPM 2.0. However, the bypass only applies to PCs that have at least TPM 1.2, which has to be enabled. This can usually be done by going into the machine’s BIOS settings on startup.
The Microsoft-provided bypass should also enable a Windows 11 installation on PCs that have a CPU older than the official system requirements, for example an AMD Ryzen 1000 processor or an Intel 7th-generation Core chip. The company’s webpage notes: “An image install of Windows 11 will not check for the following requirements: TPM 2.0 (at least TPM 1.2 is required) and CPU family and model.”
If you want Windows 11 on an unsupported CPU, you should use the Windows 11 Disk Image installation process.
Still, using the bypass has caveats. Microsoft’s instructions link to a whole page that warns installing Windows 11 on an unsupported PC could lead to malfunctions arising from compatibility problems. The company also vaguely says: “Devices that do not meet these system requirements will no longer be guaranteed to receive updates, including but not limited to security updates.” If you do get denied for a Windows update, you’ll have to download and install the patches manually.
