LERC’s BoC Reacts to Massive Load Shedding
The Board of Commissioners (BoC) of the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) has described the Liberia Electricity Corporation’s (LEC) massive load shedding in its operational areas as unacceptable and calls on LEC Management to set into motion remedies to address the electricity generation nightmare.
This load shedding being carried out by LEC as observed is in violation of the minimum service levels in Schedule Two (2) of the Customer Service and Quality of Supply Regulations (CSQOSR), which ensures that duration of outages cannot exceed eight hours and therefore the commission directs LEC to take urgent steps to curtail these load shedding.
LERC recalls that during LEC tariff application review process, the Commission, on numerous occasions, expressed concerns about the seasonal variations impacting Mount Coffee power generation capacity especially during the Dry Season, to which LEC assured the LERC that effective January 2022, it would have sufficient fuel stock to generate 29.4 MW from the Bushrod Thermal Plant complemented by power imports via the Transco-CLSG arrangements during the Dry Season.
The LERC considers LEC’s action as a complete disregard of the Commission’s regulatory authority and reminds LEC of the necessary actions at the Regulator’s disposal consistent with the 2015 Electricity Law of Liberia and applicable regulations.
What I do give a damn about is the utter hypocrisy of Sanders and other wealthy leftists, and their propensity to ignore or justify their own extravagances every time they vilify “the rich” and spew their silly “fair share” nonsense — as if the left and the left alone is the arbiter of what is fair or enough. The reality is, of course, there will never be enough of the money we earn that they want to take from us.
The left-wing brain is hardwired to believe all of life is a zero-sum game, meaning the more someone else gets, or keeps, as it were, the less there is left for others to take. The following Bernie tweet from Saturday, in which he whines himself silly about “the billionaire class” and their superyachts, is a perfect example.
Super-large yachts have become the status symbol of the billionaire class. And Russian oligarchs are not the only people who own them.
While half of our people work paycheck to paycheck, members of the American oligarchy spend hundreds of millions to build their very own yachts. //

And the working-class people who build those yachts are well paid for the job. But because you've never actually earned a paycheck outside government, or met a payroll, you have a microscopically limited understanding of how the economy actually works.
Also, you own 3 homes.

MONROVIA – Members of the regional parliament attending the ECOWAS Fifth Legislative Parliamentary Seminar and 2022 Extraordinary Session of the ECOWAS Parliament were forced to call off the session on Thursday due to the sudden breakdown of the generator supplying the Ministerial Complex electricity.
The sudden blackout, FrontPageAfrica gathered, left some of the dignitaries stranded in the elevator at the Ministerial Complex. They were rescued by technicians at the building.
“The generator broke down, but these things happen just like how humans fall and die. It started with the fuel – the machine ran out of fuel and they managed to get fuel, they tried putting it and it will come on and go off. They tried it several times it did not come on. Some of the dignitaries were stuck in the lift and the technicians had to come to their rescue,” a technician, preferring anonymity, working on the scene of blackout at Ministerial Complex Thursday.
The power was later restored but the Parliamentarians said they were not comfortable there any longer and would rather prefer using the Monrovia City Hall for the rest of their sessions until Monday when the heads of states are in.
“They were called back but they said they will rather use City Hall on Friday because they do not want to have a repeat. They asked the technicians to work on the machines to ensure that it does not happen when the heads of states are having their meeting next Monday,” a FrontPageAfrica reporter covering the session said.
Yet, while people are going so far as to ban cats and cutting opera singers, the Biden Administration is still buying Russian oil while cutting our ability. They’re still using a Russian negotiator in what is sure to be yet another horrible Biden mistake: coming to a new Iran nuclear deal which, as we reported, is very close (and very awful).

In case anyone is interested, I have developed a web app to create .edl files and modified / filtered (family friendly) subtitle files.
Regarding the creation of .edl files:
2 .edl files are created.
One is the regular "ready to use" .edl file. This is a bit different from the ones we may be used to seeing from the "Open Beta - Mute Profanity" Kodi plugin.
There is no preamble of **** which was causing certain versions of kodi to skip the .edl file. (and thus not work)
The "Open Beta - Mute Profanity" .edl file only listed the word that was skipped which sometimes made it hard to determine if it was an "appropriate" skip or not. This one will list the phrase so that the word can be seen in context and thus the decision of whether to include the skip or not is easier to make
The other edl file created here is a "testing" edl. BIG THANKS to @MovieCleanup for this idea!!! Angel (See his post here). He brilliantly created a windows script that would create a testing edl from the regular edl file on your computer. I decided to include the creation of a similar testing edl file (through a different process) automatically at the same time as the regular .edl file creation.
When you want to use the "Testing" .edl file, the file name needs to be renamed by removing the "TESTING" text and thus match the movie file (and thus the regular .edl will need to be temporarily renamed or moved out of the folder)
When watching the movie in kodi, The Testing .edl file will have kodi skip the movie to 5 seconds before and a few seconds after every "mute" / filtered word. This way, you can "test" the timing of the filters as sometimes the subtitles don't exactly match up with the dialogue. Adjustments can thus be made to the timing of the filter. (Obviously the timing adjustments will need to be made in the regular .EDL file as well!!)
There is an option to filter ALL profanities (STRICT) or to not filter a list of a few words. (I could build this out further, not sure yet.)
Filter Timing - If you have a really good subtitle / dialogue match, you may want to try the option to "Mute Predicted Word Position". This sets the mute to occur at the predicted time within the subtitle line according to when the swear occurs. Thus - a much shorter mute but slightly higher chance of missing the profanity. . . . The other option is to filter the entire line which is what the "Open Beta - Mute Profanity" Kodi plugin does.
Regarding the creation of modified subtitle (.srt) files:
There is an option for the "to be filtered" words in the subtitle file to be replaced with optional text.
You can choose a single word
Marshmallow, Watermelon
you can choose a category from which a random word will be selected for each separate filtered word.
Random Fruits and Vegetables, Random Mythological Gods, Random Cheeses, Random Animals
2 subtitle (SRT) files will be created.
One subtitle file will have the entire subtitles (with the filtered words replaced.)
The other subtitle file will ONLY contain those subtitles whose lines were muted by the filter. Accordingly, if you turn the subtitles on for the movie and choose this subtitle file, the (modified) subtitles will only be displayed during muted sections.
