Sen. Menendez “Deeply Disappointed” In Biden Admin Killing EastMed Pipeline From Israel to Europe

Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, seems largely unimpressed by President Biden’s foreign policy. //

EastMed was the planned 1,180-mile natural gas pipeline across the Mediterranean Sea from Israel to southern Europe that the Biden administration killed in January. The pipeline, expected to cost $7 billion and to carry at least 10 billion cubic meters of gas a year, would ease Europe’s reliance on Russian oil. Sen. Menendez, who has long supported the project and co-sponsored the Eastern Mediterranean Security and Energy Partnership Act of 2019, wants the U.S. to rethink supporting the EastMed pipeline.

President Biden gave up on EastMed after approving the Nord Stream 2 pipeline that would have increased Germany’s dependence on Russia. Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Germany and other Europeans began to see the folly of relying on Russia.

One might have thought President Biden too would see that relying on one’s enemies is imprudent. One would have been wrong.

The Biden administration went hat in hand to Venezuela and is now trying to rush through a new bad deal with Iran, in order to increase supply and lower oil prices. Biden also reached out to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, a traditional ally whose leader Biden had previously spurned, and the United Arab Emirates, but neither would take his phone calls. Both are deeply worried about Iran and the administration’s eagerness for a rapprochement with it; or at least, about U.S. unwillingness to hold Iran to account.

Menendez favors relying on our friends rather than our enemies: “[W]ith the emergency of the moment, I’d rather not be looking at Venezuela, I’d rather not be looking at Iran, I’d rather not be looking at all these other countries when we have allies like Greece in the region, like Israel and others that can maybe be the source of that energy.”

The democratic aspirations of the Venezuelan people, like the resolve & courage of the people of Ukraine, are worth much more than a few barrels of oil. My statement on the Admin's reported talks with VZ breathing new life into Maduro's reign of torture:

And speaking of NATO and of EastMed, in killing the latter, Biden was reportedly motivated at least partly by a desire to please Turkey, which was trying to muscle its way into any pipeline project.

This is the same Turkey that bought a Russian S-400 air-defense system, although it’s part of NATO. The U.S. responded by barring Turkey from buying F-35 aircraft it wanted. (Per Reuters, the U.S. suggested Turkey solve the problem by shipping the S-400 system to Ukraine.)

It’s the same Turkey that illegally invaded and partitioned Cyprus in 1974, and now demands a cut of the pipeline planned from Israel to Cyprus, then Greece and beyond. As people said of France under De Gaulle, with friends like this, the U.S. sure doesn’t need enemies.

Restore the Windows bootloader to MBR after dual-booting with Linux – LinuxBSDos.com

If you are reading this, you have likely attempted or actually set up a dual-boot system between your favorite Linux distribution and Windows. And if you did that on a computer with a single hard drive, that is, dual-booting Windows and Linux alongside each other, you probably replaced the Windows boot loader with GRUB, the Linux boot loader, in the Master Boot Record (MBR).

Though that is not what I recommend, many still prefer it that way, even as I have written in many of my dual-boot tutorials that Windows will, during a reinstall, overwrite anything it finds in the MBR, and that some anti-virus programs tend to write small files to the MBR, messing up GRUB.

For the record, my recommendation is to install the Linux boot loader, not in the MBR, but in the Linux installation’s boot partition, or the main partition, if /boot is not on a separate partition. This gives the Windows boot manager the main responsibility of presenting what operating system to boot into during a restart or reboot.

That way, if you have to reinstall Windows, you will not lose access to the Linux side of the dual-boot system. If you installed the Linux boot loader to the MBR and want to restore the Windows boot loader, this short tutorial shows you how to do it. It is an easy, point-and-click process. And the application that makes it that easy is called EasyBCD, a free-for-personal-use application from Neosmart Technologies.

I believe that it is fairly well settled law that there is an implied exception to the statute of limitations when bad actors fraudulently conceal their misdeeds. In this case, the defendants, federal law enforcement, and other bad actors all did their utmost to prevent any discovery of the truth.

Given that many of these facts have only recently been confirmed by Durham, I would think that the statute of limitations would have been tolled during that cover-up period. //

Why not sue? The criminal part of our justice system is now thoroughly criminal, it isn't going to help. It is run by criminals to protect certain criminals instead of protecting common people from criminals. //

Yes, there is a strong likelihood that Trump will lose this case. (I hope he doesn’t. I hope he wins and takes all of these people to the cleaners.). However, even if he does lose, he is still extracting a measure of justice from these charlatans. He is forcing them all to hire lawyers to defend themselves. That’s going to cost them a lot of money. So, even if Trump loses the suit, he is still getting some justice. //

I have studied RICO law, including its private cause of action provisions. I think The Donald has a decent shot at winning.

The key to a successful RICO case is to establish the existence of a criminal enterprise. For a private cause of action, the plaintiff needs to show quantifiable harm as a result of the enterprise activity.

A criminal enterprise could be something like Person A authorizing the payment to Person B to pay Person C to offer false information to the FBI about an American citizen and a political opponent, with the purpose of causing a criminal investigation of that person. That's a federal crime right there. It can involve others who knowingly act in furtherance of the enterprise, including the "foot soldiers" who run the sham criminal investigations, get surveillance warrants based on lies, and leak their existence to the media.

You know, people like Evita Clinton, and Mark Elias, and Steele, and Comey, and the FBI adulterers... the list goes on.

If you are ever going to get the Clintons - and the Bidens, for that matter - you have to be able to punch through their veil of "plausible deniability" in getting their minions to do their dirty work for them. RICO was the antidote to Mafia crime family leaders like Al Capone who could run massive criminal enterprises but never themselves do anything chargeable.

In a RICO cause of action, all Trump needs to do is to tie Evita to the criminal enterprise that acted on her behalf. Once that's done, the beauty of RICO is that everyone in the organization becomes collectively liable for every criminal act committed by every other member, even ones they personally had nothing to do with.

When Al Capone was told of the Valentine's Day Massacre, he said, "I'll send flowers." When Evita Clinton was confronted with questions about wiping computer drives that likely contained evidence against her and her enterprise, she said, "What, with a cloth?" Both of these people let their arrogance and hubris shine through in moments like these. The difference is, RICO didn't exist in Capone's day.

From Russia, With Skills: The Post-Invasion Russian Brain Drain - LowEndBox

In the past 30 days, over 70,000 IT professionals have fled Russia. The Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC) expects them to be joined by an additional 100,00 by end of April.

According to RAEC, “The only things holding back the second wave are the high costs of tickets and housing in the countries of destination, and the fact that it’s now almost impossible to make international financial transactions”.

According to one poll, one third of Russia’s IT sector is looking for overseas employment, which would put the potential brain drain at more that 600,000.

This talent flight is particularly crippling since the most capable engineers are those who are able to leave first because their skills are in demand.

A 60% Dud Rate for Precision-Guided Munitions Explains a Lot of Russia's Problems in Ukraine – RedState

The United States assesses that Russia is suffering failure rates as high as 60% for some of the precision-guided missiles it is using to attack Ukraine, three U.S. officials with knowledge of the intelligence told Reuters.

The disclosure could help explain why Russia has failed to achieve what most could consider basic objectives since its invasion a month ago, such as neutralizing Ukraine’s air force, despite the apparent strength of its military against Ukraine’s much smaller armed forces. //

One of the staples on social media accounts reporting from Ukraine has been the very high rate of cruise missiles that have failed to detonate.
