Great news!
While Democrats tear down statues and change street names to hide their prior subjugation of blacks, they are silent on President Trump continuing foreign policy success. //
Has anyone noticed that Syria has been off of the front page for some time now? A large part of that of course, is our current focus on the Wuhan China virus and Democrat attempts to use a supposed “second wave” to perpetuate voter fraud via ballot harvesting. This, while maligning President Trump’s stellar handling of the much diminished pandemic. It’s not as though the left is totally ignoring foreign policy. They do after all, have time to yammer about “hearings” regarding an unconfirmed report of Russian action in Afghanistan…a report the president never received. Here is the real reason Syria is being ignored. President Trump’s policies are working. //.
Confirmation of that comes from of all places, a well known anti-Trump publication, Foreign Policy.
In Wednesday’s edition, Jonathan Spyer penned an opinion piece entitled: Trump’s Syria Policy Is Working
Here is the lede.
The Assad regime is cracking under the pressure of stalemate—just like the State Department planned.
Benjamin Netanyahu is building ties with anti-Iran Arab leaders from Riyadh to Doha and betting that a peace deal is no longer a necessary prerequisite…

We have the advantage of truth... //
As Carlson points out in his remarks, they hate Trump because he can’t be controlled, because he says truths that fly in the face of their efforts to control, that he refuses to go along with the narrative the left wants to push about America, that he trumpets
He speaks about Trump’s speech and highlights some of the most important parts, defending against the ripping down of both our statues and history, and the basic concepts of the goodness of America. That contrary to what the folks on the left tend to push, America has been great largely because America has been transformatively good, that America has defeated both fascism and Communism, because of our formation, our principles of liberty were copied around the world, more people threw off the yoke of monarchy and other tyrannical governments. It’s why we became a beacon for the world. It’s why people came here in droves from other countries. It’s why Hong Kong in declaring its desire for liberty flies our flag as a symbol.
From White House:
We believe in equal opportunity, equal justice, and equal treatment for citizens of every race, background, religion, and creed. Every child, of every color — born and unborn — is made in the holy image of God. (Applause.)
We want free and open debate, not speech codes and cancel culture.
We embrace tolerance, not prejudice.
We support the courageous men and women of law enforcement. (Applause.) We will never abolish our police or our great Second Amendment, which gives us the right to keep and bear arms. (Applause.)
We believe that our children should be taught to love their country, honor our history, and respect our great American flag. (Applause.)
We stand tall, we stand proud, and we only kneel to Almighty God. //
As Carlson points out, media like The Washington Post out and out lied about Trump defending Confederate statues and “white domination” when he never said any such thing and nothing he said could even come close to supporting their lie. But they don’t care because they know many will never hear the speech, so they can lie about it as they did.
Time for 2020 Donald to emulate 2016 Donald?

Beneath the illuminated faces of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln, Pres Trump invoked the words of Dr Martin Luther King Jr., whom he says called on his fellow citizens not to tear down the American heritage but to live up to it.
Benny
@bennyjohnson
This is President Trump’s ‘A Time For Choosing’ speech.
It is excellently written and executed .
This message will win 40 states in November.
“Those who seek to erase our heritage want Americans to forget our pride and our great dignity, so that we can no longer understand ourselves or America’s destiny,” he said Friday. “In toppling the heroes of 1776, they seek to dissolve the bonds of love and loyalty that we feel for our country, and that we feel for each other.”
“Their goal is not a better America, their goal is to end America,” he said. //
There is a time for choosing, as Ronald Reagan and Trump have both said, standing against the chaos or going down into oblivion by being silent in the face of it, or worse, helping the chaos. The Democrats have been the latter, we all must stand against it.
The media should stop "fact-checking" things that aren't false. //

There is a rise in Coronavirus cases because our testing is so massive and so good, far bigger and better than any other country. This is great news, but even better news is that death, and the death rate, is DOWN. Also, younger people, who get better much easier and faster!
Jake Tapper
@jaketapper
Not true, per Asst. Health Secretary Admiral Brett Giroir: "There is no question that the more testing you get, the more you will uncover – but we do believe this is a real increase in cases, because the percent positivities are going up."
Jake, those two statements aren’t contradictory. ALL of the following are true:
testing is UP.
rate of positivity is UP.
total cases are UP.
fatality rate is DOWN.
deaths are DOWN.
We will defeat this virus.

Orange man bad. The truth about the Donald Trump racism narrative. ///
Trump was friends with Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson for decades; but now he's a racist. Really? I do not think that word means what you think it means!
Regarding Durham’s probe — he said he was shocked at the silence from media on the collapse of Russiagate after all they did to sensationalize the allegations for years. Not even a “whoops” – just onto the next “false scandal”. No expressions of concern about “civil liberties or integrity of governmental processes” as reflected by that collapse. //
Most bluntly he said “This is the closest we have ever come to an organized effort to push a President out of office.” //
Maybe his strongest comments came at the end in discussing China, the CCP, and espionage aimed at stealing US technology.
He described it as a fundamental challenge to US prosperity, which he said has since the late 19th century come as a result of US leadership in technological development. In the last decade or so China has been explicitly pursuing their goal of supplanting the US in that regard.
Barr said what is at stake is nothing less than the economic opportunity of our children and grandchildren, as China will use any advantage it gains over the US in that regard for leverage.
But most significantly, he said the American business community has been a big part of the problem, and Pres. Trump has confronted this problem in ways that no one else before him has done. He said too many US businesses are willing to trade-off long-term viability of their companies for short-term profits, which then allow them to gain and execute stock options and realize personal wealth at the expense of future growth and opportunity.
Berman was free to refuse to sign a letter he disagreed with. But because that letter reflected a policy priority of DOJ, his refusal should have been accompanied by his letter of resignation.
“Independence” – even in the Sovereign District of New York – only takes you so far.
The worst thing one of Mary Jordan’s 100 sources had to say about Melania Trump is that she’s 'stubborn.' No arguments there.
The coalition of voters who elected Donald Trump did not vote for him in 2016 because he was endorsed by the GOP establishment – he wasn’t.
The fact that the GOP establishment will not support his re-election will have about the same amount of influence in 2020 as it had in 2016 — none.
Whatever shall we do without them //
This is all shocking and stunning to me. That the Vichy wing of the Republican party would vote for a Democrat is quite possibly the most shocking thing I’ve heard since some tried to convince me that Pope Francis was supposed to be Catholic.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I think it is clear that the populist impulse birthed in the Tea Party movement of 2010 that ultimately elected Trump in 2016 is a direct result of the actions of men like Powell, and both Bushes, and McCain, and Romney. These were people who never really cared about working men and women and who owed their primary allegiance to the moneyed and the powerful. I never expected any of these people, who, at least on the national political stage, epitomize the happy losers who’ve allowed the left to utterly corrupt this country; people who, to paraphrase someone famous, love the “salutations in the marketplace,” and care much, much more about the invitations to the right parties and the praise of the New York Times editorial page for being reasonable than they do for the direction of the nation, to vote for President Trump. They look at Trump’s personality and they look at his supporters, many of whom shop at ::gasp ::shudder WalMart, and can’t imagine making common cause.
There is a lot about Trump’s persona that I don’t like. I wouldn’t want my son to grow up to be like him, apart from being wealthy and marrying a supermodel who seems to be a class act as a person…though I’d want him to limit the whole marriage thing to once. But President Trump has done more to restore credibility to the GOP and to move conservatism forward in less than four years that George Bush, a man I generally admire, did in eight. Bush could’ve defunded Planned Parenthood. Bush could’ve controlled illegal immigration. Bush could’ve reined in the EPA. Bush could’ve acted to remove the regulatory burden from the US economy. Trump will never deliberately throw an election the way that John McCain and Mitt Romney did for fear of being called bad names. He may not always win but he doesn’t go away quietly and winning is important to him. //
I don’t care what Cindy McCain or George Bush or Colin Powell or Mitt Romney do because I don’t give a good damn for their advice or opinions because I know they don’t give a damn for me and my family and they really don’t care what America looks like so long as they get the accolades of the ‘right’ people. They don’t see me as a free-born citizen who votes for people to represent my values. They see me as some kind of a serf voting for someone better than me to lead and instruct me. That isn’t how it works. It isn’t how it has ever worked with Americans.
What we’re seeing under Trump, especially if he is reelected, is the last gasp of the old order. The end of the time when the powerful partied and vacationed together and their political battles were little more that choreographed WWE matches for the rubes in the backcountry. The fact that these people are refusing to vote for Trump says in the way that no Trump campaign video ever can that Trump has delivered on his promises and the powers of the status quo are terrified of what a second Trump administration will do to their cozy little deal.
The numbers will blow your mind. //
When I say shocker, I mean it here.
The jobs report was released this morning with the expectation being that we’d see a 20% unemployment rate. The New York Times and Politico were already warming up, putting out tweets predicting doom.
The actual numbers turned out to be so far off their predictions that you have to wonder what good these “experts” are at this point.
Instead of losing 7.8 million jobs, we gained 2.5 million. The unemployment rate, instead of rising to 19.5%, dropped to 13.3%. This looks to be the beginning of the V-shaped recovery some more optimistic onlookers have talked about. //

"the V-shaped recovery some more optimistic onlookers have talked about."
'more optimistic onlookers': Read: TRUMP
Once again, it is starting to look like Trump was right... even when virtually everyone else (including myself... I expected a MUCH slower recovery) claimed otherwise.
At some point, I'm just going to have to start planning for things based on the concept that when Trump predicts something, he's going to be right... even when all logic tells me otherwise.
Watch: Donald Trump Leaves Media Speechless in Rose Garden, Walks to Historic Church Burned in Riots
"Now, I'm going to pay my respects to a very, very special place." //
My first and highest duty as President is to defend our great country and the American people. I swore an oath to uphold the laws of our nation, and that is exactly what I will do.
He then continued:
But we cannot allow the righteous cries of peaceful protestors to be drowned out by an angry mob. //
Then he strongly urged state leaders to use their National Guard troops to end the violence “now.” He added that any state or local government that chooses not to bring the mob to heel will see U.S. Army forces sent to handle things.
Trump ended his statement with, “Now, I’m going to pay my respects to a very, very special place.”

I almost can’t believe what I’m seeing. POTUS just walked out the front door of the White House and into Lafayette Square - the epicenter of the DC protests - to visit historic St. John’s Church, which was set on fire last night.
…in the process, stunning into silence the media – and anyone else – who’s been calling for him to address the nation about the protests and mayhem… //
By walking across Lafayette Square to St. John’s Episcopal Church, the historic church attended by every sitting, U.S. president since James Madison, which was burned by rioters Sunday night.
Of course the Trump administration is playing tough with the media — because the media has played tough with him before he was even elected. Nearly every question asked in the briefing room is usually in the loaded construction of, “As you know, things are terrible, and it’s your fault, care to comment?” McEnany has decided to hit back.
This isn’t about the First Amendment. The media in the United States can say whatever the hell it wants — and we, as the New York Post, thank heaven for that every day. But there’s nothing in the Constitution that says the press secretary has to be polite about it.
You know what word needs to be retired in the age of Trump? “Unprecedented.”
President John Adams signed a law making it a crime to criticize the government; 20 newspaper editors were imprisoned. Andrew Jackson not only had his own paper, edited by a member of his cabinet, but it got government subsidies. Kayleigh McEnany hurting your feelings is not a constitutional crisis.
You buy ink by the barrel, fill the airwaves 24 hours a day and get millions of clicks on your websites. Victims? Get over yourselves.
The questions press secretary Kayleigh McEnany raised demand answers — answers that journalists absolutely refuse to dig up.
We've seen this movie before and we don't like the ending //
As we come out of the greatest self-inflicted wound by any nation with the possible exception of Operation BARBAROSSA, the same people who were the prime movers behind this current nonsense are attempting to stoke panic by creating a specter of a resurgence of the virus in the fall and with that, the necessity of a return to ‘social distancing’ and lockdowns. As my colleague Michael Thau pointed out yesterday, there is no evidence that any of the measures we have taken have accomplished diddly squat beyond destroying lives and burning through the nation’s wealth like a Kuwaiti oil fire. [READ The Hardest Thing About This Lockdown May Be Admitting to Ourselves That It Accomplished Absolutely Nothing.

While those obvious lessons seem lost upon our self-proclaimed intelligentsia, they are not lost on President Trump.
“People say that’s a very distinct possibility. It’s standard. And we’re going to put out the fires. We’re not going to close the country. We’re going to put out the fires,” Trump told reporters during a tour of a Ford manufacturing plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., when asked if he was concerned about a second wave of COVID-19.
Trump expressed confidence in the country’s ability to contain future outbreaks, referring to them as “embers.”
“Whether it’s an ember or a flame, we’re going to put it out. But we’re not closing our country,” the president continued.
We know this virus is not some Andromeda Strain virus that will kill humanity. While I’m skeptical that a vaccine will ever materialize, we have learned much, much more about how the disease spreads, treatments are being developed, and we’ve learned that you really aren’t at risk if you are relatively healthy and under 60.
Giving a firm message that the federal government will not participate in any shutdown, no matter what some governors may do, sends a strong message and will definitely up the political cost of a Michigan or Pennsylvania or New York or California going bonkers…again.
