Carlson compared journalists to the North Korean gymnastics team on Kim Il Song day, moving as one. To illustrate his point, Carlson plays clips of reporters across various networks repeating the same line over and over again with the buzzwords “truth, science, and transparency.” //
Watching the people whose jobs it is to report objective truth and tell the stories that we need to hear literally giggling and nearly becoming weepy over being handed a cup of coffee by the President is nauseating because we can see right before our eyes our reporters telling us they’re not going to give us the real story.
They love Democrats and they especially love the Bidens like they love their grandparents. We can see these journalists effectively saying they’re going to protect them. They won’t let them down.
Speaking up and speaking out is a scary thing to do for many Americans for fear that doing so will just make them a target. One false move could see you fired from your job, arrested, or in extreme cases, the mob may very well show up at your door.
Social justice is an ideological stance that requires very shallow thinking, hatred of the “others,” and complete compliance with the ever-shifting narrative. Anything less will result in consequences. It feels no sympathy, it makes time for no nuance. It is pure hatred, intolerance, and ignorance wrapped into an easy to digest ideology.
That kind of ideological blue pill is the same kind of attitude we saw in Nazi Germany then, and we’re seeing a lot of that now. Cancelations, calls for lists to be made, political-ideological stances to be wiped out, violence, intimidation, and censorship are running rampant today from the left just like it did from the Nazis then. It’s the same beast, it just carries a different name.
Carano was right. While libertarians and conservatives aren’t being ushered onto trains and taken to concentration camps, we are seeing the beginning stages of what leads to that.
What should worry you is that Carano was silenced for exposing that truth.
Joseph Bottum has proffered the thesis that the decline of the mainline is the central story of the past fifty years in America. Mainline Protestantism had, until recently, played a central role in shaping the moral framework of American society; its decline has left a vacuum which has been filled by religious-like forces. Those forces are not directly related to any branch of Christendom and are not necessarily oriented to a supernatural destiny. Rather, Wokeness seeks religious meaning in immanent realities; it locates the sacred within this world. This constitutes it, according to the recent study by Steven D. Smith, as a form of neopaganism. //
https://www.amazon.com/Anxious-Age-Post-Protestant-Spirit-America/dp/0385518811
Wokeness is thus neopagan. Its adherents are not mere disenchanted, logical positivists, but rather passionate believers who have found deep meaning, existential assurance, moral superiority, and self-transcendent purpose by opposing dark, mystical forces which wage war on modern society. The sacred are the innocent victims of pernicious social forces and salvation consists in demonstrating one’s own innocence and purity by awakening to these realities, feeling moral indignation, and opposing them—largely through the mechanisms mentioned above of denouncing, shaming, and scapegoating others who are “complicit” in the various purported systems of oppression. Conciliation is not really in sight and a tenuous unity is secured by shared indignation at transgressors in this Manichaean vision which cleanly identifies good and evil along group lines. Mere humans are envisioned as the source of evil and thus these humans constitute the proper scapegoats to appease societal wrath and bring about social harmony. //
ConclusionIn a world which was shaped by a Protestantism that, up until recently, provided a unifying moral framework for our nation, Wokeness fills a void and has a certain appeal to Protestants themselves and their fellow citizens. As Tom Holland has persuasively argued, we cannot shake Christian categories and conceptions in the West, but their meanings can shift. Wokeness meets a religious need by mimicking a Protestantism that our society has largely left behind. The religious energy and concern is narrowed to this-worldly realities, and thus can be identified as neopagan.
After the hearing video was posted on YouTube, this Alphabet (Google)-owned enterprise acted to take down the videos. //
The censors at YouTube have decided for all of us that the American public shouldn’t be able to hear what senators heard. Apparently, they are smarter than medical doctors who have devoted their lives to science and use their skills to save lives. They have decided there is only one medical viewpoint allowed, and it is the viewpoint dictated by government agencies. Government-sanctioned censorship of ideas and speech should frighten us all. //
The left is on the march, and they taste victory. They are so sure of their victory that Senate hearings can be memory-holed, and not a single Democrat cares. //
This is what Carano wrote in a social media post:
Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children.
“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
And to show just how much they don’t “hate” Carano’s political views, the left lobbied Disney to have her fired.
These measures are not necessary, and they are profoundly un-American. The presence of armed troops in the nation’s capital, the perpetual announcement of threats that never materialize, fences, walls, and security checkpoints are not the outward signs of a regime that feels particularly secure or is focused on the “general Welfare.” They conjure up images of a White House staff living furtively out of suitcases, afraid to unpack, with a convoy of armored vehicles standing by to race them to Joint Base Andrews and a flight into exile. They call to mind scenes from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 (yes, yes, I saw all of them, I have two daughters) when the invincible capital of Panem is beset by enemies and there are heavily armed Peacekeepers on every corner.
Why we have a right to ask, is the Biden regime acting this way? No one is attacking them. No opposing army has blockaded Washington. They control the Congress and the Executive Branch of government is stocked with its partisans. There are, contrary to FBI wet dreams, no militias contending with the federal authorities to control the hinterlands. Do they think acting terrified of the citizenry makes them look strong? Or do they think we are intimidated by this half-assed show of force? Someone needs to start asking questions. Fast.
a New England government official revealed the left’s endgame in fighting the climate in an online meeting he assumed would remain private. Massachusetts Undersecretary for Climate Change David Ismay participated in a meeting with the Vermont Climate Council back in January, where he admitted that when it comes to the big climate “offenders” in their region, there are no bad guys left to break. Ismay went on to say that now the only ones left to “break” are the people.
I know one thing that we found in our analysis is that 60% of our emissions come from – as I have it started to say you and me, except you guys are in Vermont – 60% of our emissions come from residential heating and passenger vehicles. Let me say that again …60% of our emissions that need to be reduced come from you, the person on your street, the senior on fixed-income. Right now there is no bad guy left, at least in Massachusetts, to point the finger at and turn the screws on and no break their will so they stop emitting. That’s you . We have to break your will. //
Herein lies the problem with climate policy specifically, and progressivism in general. Everyone is on board as long as the “big guys” are getting screwed. What the public at large does not know is that progressive government has no intention of stopping at the big guy. They know that small business and the middle class make up the majority of American life, currently. They know that any significant change to American life must be done on the backs of those people. This is the terrifying truth that they dare not utter out loud, because even they know they are advocating for more poverty, more struggle, and less prosperity for the people who pay their salaries. //
Poor people don’t matter. Small business doesn’t matter. Even as all these people are surely using walls, and insulation, and heat, and electricity, they simultaneously are plotting to make sure no one else has those privileges. //
The issue isn’t climate change. The issue is changing human nature and under our Constitution, no man has the right to force changes upon our free will. If people vote for heat it’s because they like being warm in the winter. The will of the voter is intended to be the most powerful voice in the nation. As with the Time article, here we see unabashed, admitted proof that there is a concerted effort to circumvent the will of voters.
These people despise the existence of anyone outside their elitist bubbles. That’s all you need to know.

PSAKI: "Even after you’re vaccinated, social distancing and wearing masks will be essential." //
This is stupidity of politicians as a whole. The Biden administration has no ability to grasp the unintended consequences of their statements so you get stuff like this, with the president’s press secretary giving edicts from on high and just assuming they’ll be followed. Of course, there’s also the fact that masks simply don’t work. I’m not sure how much more evidence of that we need. The correlation between spread and mask wearing simply doesn’t exist, and in fact, we see the inverse at times, furthering showing their ineffectiveness.
I’ll end by noting that some of this is simply about power as well. Politicians love to throw their weight around, especially Democrat politicians. The expansion of government authority over the last year has been massive, and it’s going to take a lot to take that back. That’s mostly going to come in the form of just ignoring them and living your life.
A new CBS News poll reveals that a majority of Americans believe the biggest threat to the American way of life is other Americans. More than two-thirds of poll respondents said they believe democracy in the U.S. is “threatened,” and 54% said “other people in America” are the “biggest threat to the American way of life,” more so than economic factors, viruses, natural disasters, or foreign actors. //
What does this all add up to? Simple. We have two groups that hate America and Americans. These groups overlap a bit. They are the hardcore Leftists and the self-described, Elites. The Elites are comprised of garden variety Leftists, but also include RINO politicians and pundits. Think Hunger Games.
These two groups have grown so strong, they have made it virtually impossible to compromise with them. Meeting them in the middle has become akin to a situation where a mugger comes up, threatens to kill you, rape your wife, and take all your money. You hope that a compromise might be that he takes your money, kills you, and lets your wife go. Really?
There really are two Americas, three if you count the Elites and the Leftists as two groups. Make no mistake about it. The Elites and the Leftists do indeed pose a huge danger to America. And make no mistake about it. It’s not just President Trump they hate. They hate us. Mr. Utter has written an excellent article. Please take the time to look it over. The only beef I have is that we really don’t need a poll to realize at this point, We have met the enemy and he is us.
However, the answer to the “greatest threat” question has changed. No longer am I looking at maps or reading international news to determine the who’s who of international threats. Instead, I have been watching domestic news, following social media, and watching as the rights and privileges guaranteed by the Constitution are eroded by a much more dangerous group: Corporate Fascists.
Of course, Constitutional rights apply to the prohibition of the action of Government to curtail or eliminate those rights. Companies and corporations, essentially, are entitled to any and all prohibitions they so desire, including limitations on free speech, the prohibition of 2nd Amendment rights, and the unfettered ability to spy on your life absent your knowledge or any warrant. The information they gather about you and your life is for sale to the highest bidder, including foreign enemies. They can decide to have two competing standards for two groups of people, regardless of how discriminatory it may be.

Wall Street’s war on reddit and Robinhood isn’t about free markets or price transparency or longs vs. shorts or anything like that.
Wall Street institutions have crushed retail shorts with impunity for decades, even and especially when the shorts were right. (1/x)
What’s happening right now is Wall Street realizing that retail investors, whom Wall Street mocks as nothing more than dumb commission factories for big brokerages, actually have some power that Wall Street believes it has a divine right to wield. That cannot be allowed. (2/x)
The war on reddit and Robinhood is about putting retail investors in their place. Retail investors are not allowed to move markets. Only Wall Street institutions move markets. Retailers are not allowed to squeeze shorts. Only Wall Streeters are allowed to crush shorts. (3/x)
Wall Street, you see, is allowed to make money no matter what. That was the lesson of 2008. Who cares that it’s Wall Street who destroyed the housing market/economy by lying about the risk of their garbage mortgage derivatives? They were entitled to bailouts. (4/x)
Sure, millions lost their jobs and countless people lost their homes. The bankers got paid...with your money. They got bailed out...with your money. Sure, you lost your savings and home. But that’s what you get for being a dumb rube instead of a New York City banker. (5/x)
So don’t get conned by those claiming hedge funds are just trying to protect the markets and price transparency and efficiency and blah blah blah. This is a war between corrupt institutions and normal people, and the institutions simply will not allow the normals to win. (6/6)
In a Daily Wire op-ed on Wednesday, titled “Shapiro: This Is Not Normal,” the conservative activist took apart the notion that Joe Biden — specifically, the Biden presidency — is “normal.” As Shapiro sees it, Biden’s presidency so far is anything but.
“Now, the media inform us, we have been graced by the most normal normal person to have ever normalled: President Joe Biden. Biden, they proclaim, is utterly boring, nondescript, barely worthy of coverage. His administration, too, is paradigmatically normal.
“Yascha Mounk of The Atlantic tweets, ‘It is so nice to have a boring President.” Alleged media watchdog Brian Stelter asked this week whether Biden is “making the news boring again,” adding, “The Biden White House is clearly a break from the chaos and incompetence of Trump world.'” //
On a personal level, Biden is clearly more “normal” than Trump — although treating Biden, a career politician worth nearly $10 million, as the height of normality is rather stunning.
“The goal for the establishment media isn’t to point out merely that Biden is a sort of American Everyman. It’s to use that supposed normalcy to disguise the fact that his agenda is absolutely abnormal.
The dirty little secret of the Trump administration is that despite Trump’s personal abnormality, his agenda was well in line with past precedent, and with mainstream American opinions on everything from taxes to military policy. //
“Joe Biden may be a relatively normal guy,” Shapiro wrote, in closing, “But none of this is normal.” “And pretending it is,” he correctly observed, “represents just another way for the media to reject legitimate criticisms of an administration seeking radicalism right off the bat.” //

But orange man tweets were hurting my special whittle feelings. //
“Within the first five days of his presidency, he issued 30 executive orders, compared with four for Trump, five for Barack Obama and zero for George W. Bush.
“Those executive orders included endorsement of radical reinterpretation of American history; killing the Keystone XL pipeline, along with its attendant estimated 11,000 American jobs; forcing the military to allow troops to undergo gender reassignment surgery…
“[A]nd forcing federally funded institutions to allow biological men who identify as transgender to compete alongside biological women, among others.
“He is reportedly pursuing an immigration plan directed toward reopening America’s borders. He has staffed his Cabinet by intersectional box-checking.
It is a safe bet that virtually any op-ed on China or Iran or a few other foreign countries appearing in any of the major outlets is the product of a foreign intelligence service, and the outlet serving it up has a good idea that is the case. They do it because they are fundamentally disloyal to the nation and dismissive of normal Americans who they think are too stupid to understand much of anything…though, for the life of me, I’ve never understood how anyone with a journalism degree was ever able to convince themselves that they were an intellectual elite.

Nasdaq CEO Suggests Halt to Trading to Allow Big Investors to 'Recalibrate Their Positions' to Combat Reddit Users //
Such manipulation of stock prices would be highly illegal if attempted by a typical investor in any manner, yet our elites seem to believe they can do whatever they want to benefit their fellow elites. And who could blame them for believing that? The SEC certainly isn’t going to stop them. In fact, the SEC is “assessing” the Reddit users, not the fact that market leaders may move to manipulate matters to save themselves. The full weight of the federal government isn’t going to come down on those trying to game the system. Instead, it’s going to come down on those who simply saw a legal opening and made money off the “wrong” people, i.e. the hedge funders. //

Seeing NASDAQ, banks, & regulators begin to halt trading over the Reddit WSB $GME stock rally proves that we don't have a free market.
We have a controlled market that is gamed to benefit banks and hedge funds, and if you don't invest the way they tell you to, they'll ruin you. //
Republicans need to get with the program on this. People are sick and tired of seeing a select class of people game the system while everyone else plays by a different set of rules. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to be a billionaire. It does mean that there should be no shortcuts. Markets shouldn’t be shut down to help the privileged when that courtesy is never extended to normal people. You want a free market? Let’s have a free market, not the crony capitalist garbage the GOP has so long defended.
trading on some stocks was suspended, and there were rumblings of an SEC investigation of private individuals who had the temerity to wear neck-beards and soiled undies instead of Brioni suits while playing shenanigans on the stock market. They were not impressed. //

I am continually perplexed by the childishness of adults on the left. They still read comic books, they watch superhero movies, they play video games, spend hours on social media, ride skateboards and bicycles, defer marriage and family until mid to late thirties or forties, and hold the belief that the insulated fantasy world of the university socialist cocoon should be social reality for everyone.
One of the most irritating things children do is exaggerate and overstate everything. If something is good, it's the best thing ever. If they don't like it, it is akin to Hitler. If someone makes them mad or hurts their feelings, they never want to see them again and hope something bad happens to them in return. Allowing them to do it for long allows them to develop a childish view of society as a binary proposition from scalp to sole. Everyone wears a white hat or a black hat. They are moral or they are evil. They are good or they are bad, college educated or stupid, oppressor or oppressed, ally or enemy, conservative or human. This is the binary world they wish to create, and are creating, where there is no nuance or subtlety, no neutrality allowed about anything, and where you are either an asset to the collective to be used or you are an obstacle to it to be eliminated. And so the ideological violator is not just wrong, he is evil, and the evil become fair game. And here we are. //

Trusting the government to get things right is always foolish. Just because the bureaucrats were 'scientists' from the CDC in this case doesn't make them any more competent. Governments are force, markets are competition. Without competition you can always expect incompetence. //

Indeed. One need only read Marx, Lenin, and Stalin to know the playbook:
Misery motivates, not utopia. - Karl Marx
As I said, this is a shock to no one. This is Democrat policy for at least 40 years. The idea is simple. You import an underclass…low skill/no skill people who can’t function in English…you create barriers to assimilation (let’s call this “multiculturalism” which was such a proven success in Yugoslavia) to ensure they stay captive, you propagate a public eduction system that virtually ensures the offspring of these unfortunates are no better off than they are, and you make them utterly and totally dependent upon government largess for all their basic needs. Finally, you seed these communities with political operatives who ensure party loyalty.
The only thing this is adding is an easy route to US citizenship for illegals and thereby create a magnet for even more people to cross into the US illegally and wait on the inevitable next round of amnesty and citizenship.

Biden minimum wage proposal could lift more than 1 million workers out of poverty //
From CBS:
The CBO also estimated the move would cost 1.3 million American jobs, a claim long made by conservative economists. Mr. Biden’s call to boost the minimum wage to $15 an hour “is the absolute last thing that unemployed workers need right now,” Michael Farren, an economist with the right-leaning Mercatus Center at George Mason University, said in an email. “After all, they can’t benefit from higher wages if those higher wages result in slower job growth.” //

Just one week after creating a House rules package removing the words from any legislation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to herself as “a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter” during her opening of the impeachment debate.
She is technically not in violation of her own restrictions, as gendered language was only banned from legislation and other written texts, not speeches or conversation. However, there is something deeply ironic about forbidding others’ use of words while so prominently centering them in her speech.
The president of Uganda temporarily banned Facebook and Twitter from the country this week in the final hours leading up to elections on Thursday.
