As the New York Post Editorial Board mentions in a new op-ed, Bragg sets a terrible precedent that if someone has an illegal gun, commits a hate crime, or pushes an elderly person to the ground, they will get a minor punishment. Steal from any store or business, and it doesn’t matter how many times that person does it; there will be no arrest or jail time.

But apparently, Braggs will charge you if you defend yourself. Yes, you read that right. Hard-working Jose Alba, 51, was working as a cashier at a small grocery store on Broadway near West 139th Street. A woman and her boyfriend went into the store, as the woman wanted chips but could not pay. Alba did not want to give her the chips for free.

Her boyfriend, Austin Simon, an ex-con and career criminal, went behind the counter to confront Alba. Simon shoved Alba, grabbed Alba from his collar, and began walking with Alba in front of him. But Alba seemed to have grabbed a knife, and when he stood up, they continued fighting, but he quickly turned around and stabbed Simon. Simon was pronounced dead. As Alba came back into the frame, it seemed like his arm was bleeding, possibly due to Simon’s girlfriend stabbing Alba. Alba was holding a bloody knife in his hands. //

Alba defended himself–what he did is called self-defense. That still exists in the United States of America, as much as DAs like Bragg don’t seem to think so. //

Simon threatened Alba and assaulted him. But according to Bragg, an act of self-defense warrants murder in the second degree. Alba had his bail set at $250,000 cash bail, later reduced to $50,000 bail. He is currently being held on Rikers Island.

Executives at ByteDance-owned TikTok likely lied to Congress about the social media company’s relationship with China.

Instead of free speech, the lawsuit is about TikTok product liabilities, negligence, and infringement of the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act by addicting users, compelling them to spend as much time as possible on TikTok, prompting them to engage in risky behaviors. As Trump’s predictions come true, the German political elites and the media aren’t laughing anymore. And with all German eggs in Putin’s basket, Berlin fears a “gas crisis” that could cripple the nation’s industry and disrupt everyday life.

Governors and other state officials don’t have to stand idly by as the Biden administration plots a federal takeover of elections. That’s the message being sent by the heads of two good government groups in a new memo to state officials.

The European Union voted on Wednesday to keep some specific uses of natural gas and nuclear energy in its taxonomy of sustainable sources of energy.

This official opinion of the EU matters because it affects funding for projects as the region charts its path to address climate change. In theory, the taxonomy “aims to boost green investments and prevent ‘greenwashing,’” according to the EU’s parliament.

The vote on natural gas and nuclear energy follows one that was passed in February, which amounted to a referendum on what had been a particularly controversial piece of the ruling. Natural gas emits 58.5% as much carbon dioxide as coal, according to the U.S. Energy Information Association. At several points in the last six years, I have had the eerie feeling that the gates of Hell were being re-opened to unleash another level of human torment. This is another such moment.

The multiple personalities disorder itself seems to emanate straight from Hell, whether you take that literally or metaphorically, as it typically stems from child torture. Most genuine sufferers were trapped into unspeakably horrific abuse situations before the age of 10. To celebritize and normalize something like this is to welcome horrors people do not understand and should not indulge on any level, including fantasy.
